Bernie Sanders, a man I believed in and respected, on the latest reason not to "protest vote" and hold the nose and vote for HRC. Yeah, that made me angry. So, his page is now unliked. 2016 is the last year I ever waste on political activism.

 

I don't know what you expected when he decided to run as a Democrat. The moment that happened he also committed himself to stumping for the party's nominee.

 

Liking a Facebook page is not "political activism". For 2017, find an organization you can join in your local community. Maybe an issues-focused organization regarding civil rights or homelessness. Try out a socialist party branch or anarchist collective if you can find one in your area. No matter who wins the presidential election, the way forward will be building connections and marshaling power in our local communities. It always has been

 

I have been active. Not just on FB. Don't appreciate your idiotic assumption that mine has been limited to social media. The bulwark of establishment-oligarch politics has been at the forefront of my focus for ages now. At this point, I'm ready to bring back the guillotine. As for issues-based elements, I don't see that ending, I'm just done with most State and Federal level bull****. Ciao.

No worries, sorry I got so upset. It was because this thread was specifically about crap we see on our Facebook page, so I didn't think to include my resume, lol.

I saw a wonderful gif from the John Oliver show; a Trump supporter complaining how Obama "had a big part in 9/11... not being around, always on vacation, never in the office..."

The interviewer asks "Why do you think Obama wasn't in the Oval Office on 9/11?"

The Trump supporter says "That I don't know. I'd like to get to the bottom of that."

 

John Oliver is on a month break. You're referring to Trevor Noah's Daily Show, and specifically to a segment by Jordan Klepper (who usually goes to Trump rallies to point out the rampant ignorance).

 

Probably; the video was geoblocked.

 

This is becoming less and less true. I'm dead certain that if Trump hadn't gotten the nomination, he wouldn't have endorsed the person who did. The other Republican candidates give less than ringing endorsements. And Cruz refuses to mention Trump and tells people at the Republican convention to "vote their conscience." The Democratic party is still minding its manners compared to the Republican candidates, but this whole thing of losers in the primary endorsing the winner is probably going to stop completely in our lifetimes.
