My initial answer was a bit disingenuous : the person is the daughter of my father's old business partner. My father was rather politically conservative, more and more so she got older (watched far too much Fox News) and it was something we certainly had discussions about.

After unfriending the person, I deleted the original post and posted it again. Sure enough, a new idiot had come forward. jp-30, you're more than welcome to come like again, and enjoy the show.

On the inane front, my cousin posted some "70s flashback" memes. She was born in the mid-90s. She also likes to post college life memes and say how relatable they are. She dropped out of school in eighth grade and has not gotten her GED, nor does she have a job and she's not in college. She also likes to give parenting advice to my brother, since he has a son. She's single and has no kids and never was a mother. Her whole Facebook is a lie. It's not even a good lie. It's a terrible and blatantly obvious lie and it annoys me because it fools absolutely no one and we're constantly calling her out.

This is one of the most hilariously transparent talking points of the anti-welfare group. Like if you walked up to this guy and tried to give him a hundred thousand dollars in cash, he would turn you down because of his self-worth? Yeah, sure. Give someone something for nothing and they're the happiest damn person in the room. I got a free piece of pie yesterday. Still feeling pretty good about it actually. All of this guy's problems with getting something for nothing would vanish the second he was on the receiving end. The real problem people have with welfare? They're doing too well to get it.

 

My parents didn't like the fact that I drew unemployment during a hiatus. In spite of the fact that in order to draw unemployment, you have to have first been employed. And it comes mostly from the employer who terminated you (in TV, everyone is technically terminated between seasons, which is why you're eligible).

So even though I worked and earned unemployment and had to be able to pay my bills between seasons, my family still looked down their noses at this and considered it a handout.

Some people are baffling, what can you say.
