JCC ITT post your suggestions for the standard profile pic

This is due for an overhaul



Everytime I see it, I think Jabba-wocky has posted. So we have an opportunity here.

What should it be? A cute, furry Ewok? Or Jar-jar? Or what he stepped in? Or...?

Back on the real JCC we didn't have or need little pictures by our names. People actually read the username, or could recognize one another based on style and content.

No we didn't. There was another JCC. A real one before we had to move to this forum, and it didn't have anything at all. Not these silly pictures or that fake "like" button.

Yes, the IGN boards where we had standard icons that were voted in. The only difference was that we couldn't have any random picture from the internet.

 

I can honestly say I have no memory of this. Or rather, that I remember a time when we didn't have icons.

 

I remember when we sent posts by carrier pigeon and our "icons" were wax seals.

 

This was probably purged from your system to free up processing power. Your system hasn't been updated in so long I am surprised it can even still function, to be honest. Truly a marvel of early artificial intelligence systems.

I have seen screencaps with no icons. What explains that?

 

? I have no idea what you are remembering. We had icons way back when it first became TF.net and the JC after changeover from SW Website at Texas A&M.

 

There was a no icon option, Wocky, and there was also the possibility that some of it was saved HTML.

You had the war rhino circa 2007 or so.

I think you might be confusing the JC with another forum.

 

I don't go to other forums on the internet. This is the one we all live at.

 

Wocky, if someone saved the webpage as HTML they can do complete or simple, which may or may not strip icons off it.

Certainly, there has never been a time that you've been a member of the JC and it hasn't had icons available.

 

There might have been a time during the Texas AM days that we didn't but I don't remember. There was a time here when they had tons of icons available to pick from.

 

There was a "new icons" option to... wait for it... see the new icons that were made.

There was also a category for mods IIRC, because Obi-Anne had a custom one.

I had this for most of my time as a mod:



Albeit just the faces, as a widescreen one. And because the colours were blue on blue (or, as American soldiers like to call it, "fair game") it sorta matched.

 

Would make for a fine standard profile pic.

 

As mentioned earlier, icons / avatars on the IGN boards were voted in, and were then available to choose from; people couldn't just upload their own. But if someone didn't choose one, nothing was shown automatically... it was just blank, and the username and stats positions moved up.

 

Yeah they were SW and Lucasfilm themed. I had TESB and the Hildebrandt SW at different times. Also had ILM magician and Wat Tambor.
