Infected ingrown toenail again....this time it isn't surprise surgery,

They just finished the numbing process. They injected the local anesthetic into my toe in four different places. I hate needles but it only hurt a little. Now we wait...

I'm going to be honest I thought it was going to be an unmitigated disaster like 4 months ago but I guess we all knew what we were doing this time.

Before, the abscess of infected tissue was a lot larger and so was the ingrown nail, which they didn't know before hand. It did not look pretty.

 

Makes sense; I accidentally got a look at my toe mid-procedure when I had a similar operation, and it wasn't pretty.

 

Man, **** ingrown toenails. Makes me want to swear off shoes and just wear sandals.

 

I wouldn't know. I have a group of elves that carry me everywhere. I'm 678 pounds.

 

I'm jealous you get to watch. I had a pound of flesh carved out of my calf during a nearly full day of Mohs surgery for a squamous cell carcinoma. Bad spot for spectating. But the surgeon was kind enough to take some great photos.
