Plain ol' high school. It's not that she's not talented, the songs just don't seem that amazing.

Yes, but you cat is also a cat. That's like an automatic internet bonus point. Not saying that Bieber isn't untalented, but you should probably pick a less, dare I say it, impressive example. Like maybe a snail. Cats are too awesome to be used as a comparison to show someone's lack of ability.

 

Bieber's a ****, but he can sing.

 

I'm stunned by the protests. He's doong exactly what he promised to do in his campaign, and the vast majority of the protesters voted for him because of it. Only now they realize he's going to run the city into the ground, undoing 40 years of good governance. Even Dinkins is preferable to this clown

I will admit to finding Lorde kind of interesting. She's not your typical singer/starlet and her voice is odd and distinctive. I absolutely loved her version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World that she did for Hunger Games.

But I have to say I do not understand why Royals has become some kind of modern anthem or standard or something. I mean . . . it's not actively bad. That's the best you can say about it as a song. This isn't like with Call Me Maybe where I sort of held the song in derision because of just how manufactured it was, but also had to cop to the fact that it really was an airy, sugary, refreshingly well crafted little confection. I mean, it wasn't great art or anything, but it was a perfectly crafted song. But Royals isn't something I hold in derision; it's just kind of okay. But neither is there anything whatsoever to distinguish it from any number of other songs being written today. This is as arbitrary a "hit song" as I've seen since Don't Stop Believin'.

 

Jimmy Fallon as host of The Tonight Show... Leno easily could have remained as host for a few more years.

The more I've listened to Lorde, the more I realized she's complete crap. Read any interview with her and she cements that with her complete stupidity and hostility towards everyone. I really don't care if she's 16.
