today i went to the mall and bought only the christmas presents i planned on buying, nothing for myself.
and i wrote my first adult christmas postcard.
and i cleaned the apartment for saturday, since i'm going away tomorrow and wanna come home to a clean apartment on saturday.

In the middle of doing laundry; my work week begins tonight.

 

i went to work today. that was a pretty good start. then i had cookies for breakfast.

 

finally scheduled my colonoscopy
made lunch for kid
checked the stock market to see how much greater Trump made America today
bought one of those sticky lint brush things to try to clean dog hair off my winter coat

- Told my sixteen-year old daughter, who lives in Montreal and desperately wants to leave her mother's house, that I'll come and get her whenever she says the word, wherever she is.

 

I went to work.
I cooked stuffed tomatoes for lunch. I could have added bacon but didn't.
Also, I could have farted loudly in front of friends but I didn't.

 

I scolded a millennial.

 

Gave children fun stuff I got them from Disneyland.
Showed children fun stuff I got myself from Disneyland.

 

Stayed home to take care of my sick child.
While home I also worked as to not add pressure to coworkers having to cover my work.
Instead of wasting money to order food out, I made a soup using leftover things in the fridge.
Sacrificed my own time to assist a friend in need.


I got 4 for today so far.

I haven't even put pants on today.

 

I worked from home today so I could care for my ill mother.
When I finish working, I will be a full-time nurse until I sleep.

Go life.

 

1/2 day of work because of snow. Beer in hand.

 

what does that mean? you leave work because of snow?

 

1. Made pasta salad for dinner as my wife had an appointment
2. Saved some for leftovers to have for lunch at work
3. Took out the bins

Of course I then left my leftover pasta salad on the ground next to the bins and went to work, so that's a -1.

 

1. Took a shower. Managed to put pants on.

2. Put a load of laundry in the washer.

Not very impressive.

 

You know, I think you have a decent time cause. Growing a life is a fairly adult thing to do.

 

Working from home to take delivery of some outdoor furniture. Dialled into an audit meeting and challenged findings. Am preparing end of calendar year reviews for my direct reports (not being in the office means they can't come up and possibly see it)

 

-testified in front of the state legislature
-attended a meeting of a regulatory board and, when asked to leave during the closed session, cited from memory the statute permitting me to observe their confidential meetings

That's two, I guess.

Also, laundry is dry and folded now.

 

I think I'm at negative adult points today, other than changing the cat's litter box.

 

I called out of work today, slept in until 11, made a cup of white rice with soy sauce, and now I will order pizza. So I am at -4 for adulting today.
