[face_thinking] See, I went to the Spice Girls as well but they haven't produced anything for awhile (other than children...so spawn) and they still love their creator (the media) and the media loves them because their meaningless, vapid lifestyles look pretty on magazine pictures. It's pure win for that team.

I was more thinking which band/performer can no longer be in same room as the music genre that they started with, because they would be murdered on sight for being a traitor, e.g. Jewel and folk music but with more evulz.

Wait, so Gorillaz fans are going to spend the next 2000+ years getting in the way of scientific and social progress?

    I HATE YOUUUUUUU

They're playing at my old university in a couple of months (the timing, ARG!) so I will probably go and see them. Because I kind of have to. It's like that time that I was outside of a Cure concert there, because I was magnetically drawn to the building, but I had no tickets, so I just stood outside and gazed longingly in the windows. True story.

Tickets were "cheap" too - Gold reserve seated, NZ$127 each - considering how expensive the show must be to stage give the amount of musicians in the lineup. So, pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn't be too upset if they called it quits. Their last album was good, but really not at all close to as good as the previous were. And this last single was a piece of crap.

Empire Ants? It's my favourite track on the CD. Love it.

Naw, Doncamatic. Didn't know Empire Ants was the new single. Thought Rhinestone Eyes was going to be it, since they began the video for it. Oh well.

Oh, I dunno if it is, the student station I listen to has playlisted Ants, but they tend to ignore record company directives and just play what they think works.

Good god that was fun. Last night of the world tour, and by all accounts the last Gorillaz gig ever.

Other than Albarn, Bobby Womack, De La Soul and the Simonon/Jones rhythm section were awesome. Simonon's bass in particular. Rib shakingly good.

Sounds cool. I really like their first two albums but haven't gotten around to listening to anything else from them.

The Fall is pretty average. A few tracks that could have fitted on the studio albums, but mostly filler. Decent enough free album for the fanclub members though, I guess.

I really enjoyed "Revolving Doors" and "Bobby in Phoenix". The rest of it is nothing to write home about, even if it was composed on an iPad. It is fine as a free download but not worth paying for.

Plastic Beach was definitely their best album, and I'm jealous that you got to see them live! I watched one of their performances on HBO once and it was amazing. They even brought out Dennis Hopper to read his lines!

On topic, thanks Japes, for that link. Also, I heart Noodle, and she looks like she's all grown up now. :D

Billy Corgan should've listened to David Bowie.
