Well it's been a while, but I (potentially) have a date this coming Thursday. It's at a concert though which I'm a little iffy towards since they're so loud, rowdy, and I just don't do well in crowds. But she and I have been texting since end of January and have yet to meet, so I might as well go "what the hell" and do this thing.

 

Don't mind me necroposting/resurrecting old threads that I made. So I set up my OkCupid account again on Saturday evening, and I have a potential date set up for next Tuesday. I haven't dated in 4.5 years. I'm an out of touch and out of style Millennial. 2019 has been an....interesting year. So, as with the original purpose of this thread, fire away with your advice or lack thereof.

Well my advice is to drink as much as possible and dominate the conversation by talking endlessly about yourself .

 

Schedule as many dates as possible at the same time and place. Most of them weren't going to work out anyway. It's more convenient to knock them all out at once.

 

If she'll go hiking with you in Afghanistan, it's kismet.

 

When you have a great first date and agree to meet again, and then she or he makes an excuse about not making the second date, realise they’re actually making an excuse not to see you ever again.

I have heard good things about Bumble. Like I said, I literally just got back into the dating game (or whatever the hell it is these days) not even a week ago.

 

Tinder is terrible. But it can be fun.

I'm using OkCupid because I know several people irl who met their spouse on there. It was strongly recommended to me.

 

If that's what's working in your area, keep it up, but I'd also get Bumble.

i suggest you be someone else, but someone good and not someone bad. then when she(?) has fallen for you you reveal your true self but then its too late and shes stuck in a relationship with you and you think you have done good but then you realise that date her wasnt real her either and it turns out youre two people who dont like really each other stuck cus thats how it works and now you have mastered dating well done.
