    Celebrity Wrestling given the chop
High-profile ITV1 show Celebrity Wrestling has been pulled from its Saturday evening slot after feeling the force of Doctor Who.
The show, which features the likes of Big Brother's Kate Lawler, James Hewitt and model Victoria Silvstedt, launched three weeks ago.
But its ratings have fallen since pulling in only 3.8 million viewers on its first night. The show, which has been beaten by the successful revival on BBC1 of Doctor Who, pulled in just 2.6 million viewers on Saturday.
ITV said it intended to find another slot for the reality show, but that it could get the chop if this was not possible.
t will be broadcast for the final time at 6.30pm on Saturday before being replaced by repeats of the Star Wars movies.
Celebrity Wrestling is one of a host of celebrity shows being screened on ITV - including the forthcoming Love Island and Hit Me Baby One More Time.
The show pits stars including former EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman, Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and presenter Jeff Brazier against each other.
The contestants compete for the title of male and female celebrity wrestling champion after a series of bouts over six weeks.
An ITV spokeswoman said: "Despite a strong start bringing in a large share of younger viewers to ITV1, in the last couple of weeks we have seen that share fall and as a result have decided to take Celebrity Wrestling out of the schedule.
"Kate Thornton and the team did a great job in what turned out to be a very competitive time slot in the Saturday night schedule."
