JCC I've been thinking a lot about snatches lately

Until quite recently, I always used to do a lot of snatches in quick succession, often over 100 in a 5 minute window. Lately, however, I've come to appreciate taking my sweet time over a nice, big, heavy snatch. It's not that I don't want to do snatch after snatch as quickly as possible, just that it's nice to have a change of pace from time to time. Really helps me appreciate what snatches have to offer.

I often send footage of me doing snatches to my coach, who gives me tips on how to improve. (He loves to admire a nice snatch on his laptop in the evening). As a result, I've been doing a lot of work on my hip drive. It's made a big difference and I've had a lot of positive feedback.

But enough about me... how do you like your snatches?

Do you work your snatch hard, or neglect it?




That's not me below (I always take my shoes and socks off before doing snatches) but I think that's a fine-looking snatch. Feel free to post pictures of your snatch (or anyone elses) below for discussion.

You're not concerned over a sweaty snatch? It seems like that would be a problem here.

 

i don't do snatches

 

Due to recovering from injury, I've been seriously neglecting my snatch. I made a vow this year that I will devote at least an our per day working on it. I'll post pictures periodically once I master my technique.

Don't overdo it to start with... working your snatch is a wonderful thing but you don't want to go too hard at first. The friction can literally tear the skin from your hands if you get carried away.

Edit:- Tunick, sweat can be problematic when it comes to the snatch but there are products you can use to help with this.

 

I hope you make good use of those products.. you wouldn't want to end up on the new season of Deadliest Snatch.

Consider the source... Alaska. The arctic cold does terrible things to a snatch.

 

sometimes my snatch hits my balls. i cannot say that this experience is unpleasant.

 

Sounds hot.

Which means you're doing it right; you want to work up a sweat or you're not really doing any good.

I'm not so keen on his snatch, duende. It's not hardstyle... he's put a bit of a corkscrew in it... but also lacks the elegance of a GS snatch

i see what you are saying. however, i think i still like the quirky snatch of mr. rahsoon davis punch kettable jim. in my opinion, if someone wants to corkscrew their snatch, that is perfectly acceptable. of the two examples you posted, i feel that the first, though impressive in its discipline, is a bit too rigid a snatch for my needs. the second, however, is quite wonderful - a lovely swinging snatch. i wish i could view that snatch up close and in person.

 

ok, i didn't realize the first video featured a second snatch. i definitely prefer the gentleman's second snatch to his first, but i still like the little russian girl's snatch the best.

 

My heart condition disallows me from practicing a clean jerk, unfortunately...
