What does everyone else use? This thing came installed with AIM, ICQ, and MSN Messenger. I haven't tried any of them out yet.

Trillian. It's one program that lets you use AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo and do IRC all at once. I use it.

Well, if it's good enough for the Queen... :D

beware... once i get ahold of your screenname, there'll be no getting rid of me.

Yeah, I already gave up on getting rid of you a long time ago. [face_mischief]

 I didn't even think about having you guys build me one. (Next time, though. ;))

While I did drool over the Vaio, (They are very, very nice, but I don't have that kind of money!) I just got a cheap emachines with a big rebate from Best Buy. [face_blush] It was a good deal for cd-rom, cd-rw, monitor, printer/scanner, etc. It could use some more memory, but it's fine for now. I'll mess with it later. I don't need anything fancy. It gets me on-line. :)

Kirana: An eMachine?!? Ack! Well, I gues that's better than a Compaq, but not by much. We'll have our way when you have the money for a real computer. ;)

HEY!!! Don't diss eMachines! I have one, and it has Windows 2000 Pro, and ever since I got 2000 Pro, it has not crashed. My computer+Win2000Pro=No crashes, not even bluescreen! XP with eMachines is good too, but it still has occasional bsod's. Except, e-machines parts don't last very long, but the motherboards do. I know that for a fact as my computer has had it's cd-rom, power supply and harddrive replaced, but it was like upgrades. So, if you get an eMachines, you go down to Fry's Electronics and upgrade faulty parts when they become faulty, and probably it will become more leeter as it breaks down!

Just to let you know, new eMachines are leet.

Well, Kev, not to diss on you, but you've just proven why I don't like eMachines: They break much more frequently than other systems. I'd much rather spend more money initially (if possible) and get a better quality computer from the get go.

I had an eMachine once. It was great for about 5 minutes and then it crashed. I'm talking EVERYTHING died in that thing. It was a piece of pucky!

The next computer I owned was an HP, it was decent, I used it for four years with only a mild glitch every now and then, and then I had Mobius build my new computer and I have never enjoyed a computer more, he did a fantastic job!

    Thanks Moe!!

(Thought I'd put in a little plug for ya there buddy. ;))

as long as it's expandable or upgradeable above & beyond its original specs, it'll work. at the very least, the case & power supply will be reuseable for the next time.

'course, the case may need a few modifications for the cranial port expansion... [face_devil]
