IMHO, this appears to simply be another product of the growing 'complaint culture' of the JC.

Is there not a policy regarding using html in regular posting, and if not, wouldn't the most simple conclusion be to form one?

The entire concept of "teh drama" is a convenient label for mods to throw at posts to brand them as crazy and not worthy of users' attention, regardless of the truth they contain. Dehrian being reponsible for handing out IP addresses to a 3rd party site is teh drama. Quixotic-Sith editing/deleting posts is teh drama. DarthSapient rampantly refusing to give out personal info to Phil Wise and quitting Head Admin only to come back begging for the position is teh drama. Empress Palpatine being a man is teh drama. Preacherboy letting his gf use his account is teh drama. Carter demoting Bane is teh drama.

Friends close ranks to protect each other and it happens here amongst the administration as much as anywhere else.

This post is causing teh drama so you should ignore it immediatley!

I have to laugh at the comparisons to Mod's occasionaly using HTML to the possibility of random bannings. They aren't even close to being the same. A mod posting with HTML doesn't prohibited anyone from posting. It doesn't prevent anyone from using the boards. It can't stop anyone from enoying themselves here. A ban is a completely different animal than sporadic HTML use.

Should the mod's use HTML in every post? No. Does it hurt if they use it occasionaly? Not at all.

No, the comparison between HTML use and random bannings wasn't made because they supposedly hurt users by the same amount. It was made because KK justified HTML use by saying "I have this power, so it's inevitable I'll want to have a little fun with sometimes," and it was pointed out that he could also use that logic to justify banning annoying people at random (or handing out IP addresses to other sites, or looking up users' email addresses and signing them up for spam lists, or deleting boring forums, or really anything else that admins are able to do and might be able to abuse). The point was that's a pretty weak defense. But anyhoo.

DA! You're just being a drama queen, so the administration reserves the right to ignore your obviously baiting post. ;)
