    She can strangle me with her thighs anyday.

    3. Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) - 'Casino Royale'
    [image=http://filmpopper.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Eva-Green-vespa-lynd.jpg]
    Nervously attractive and elegant at the same time, Eva Green's Vesper Lynd was one of the many high points in "Casino Royale." Though ultimately treacherous, she was a Bond girl that girlfriends could love.

    Absolutely gorgeous, and an excellent character played beautifully by Eva Green. :)

    My favorite. Eva Green was perfect for the role, and she played it well.

    James Bond: [upon receiving their alias documents] I'm Mr. Arlington Beech, professional gambler, and you're Miss Stephanie Broadchest...
    Vesper Lynd: I am not!
    James Bond: You're going to have to trust me on this.
    Vesper Lynd: Oh no I don't

    Yes. It's also an actual character, rather than screen decoration. Not that Eva Green isn't some of the best screen decoration you could ever hope for.

    Vesper is my favourite "Bond Girl", both because of the actress and the character. As Havac says, Vesper is much more than decoration. Will we ever see a female character as good as Vesper again in this franchise? Probably not.

    2. Jill Masterson (Shirley Eaton) - 'Goldfinger'
    [image=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RkGcdcxO8iA/TWkMSURdDsI/AAAAAAAAIJg/sU1G7VVAuSk/s1600/5.jpg]
    An iconic image and a fascinating lesson in skin suffocation, Shirley Eaton may not have had much screen time but will live forever in the halls of Bond girls.

    She was in the film for 5 seconds, but left one of the series' most enduring images.

    Iconic image, indeed. "A beautiful woman painted in gold" means "James Bond film".

    Definitely an iconic image; the gold painted woman.

    Though, didn't Mythbusters discredit the suffocation by paint theory?

    She's an iconic image, but hardly one of the best characters. I actually liked her revenge-driven sister better.

    So the paint doesn't suffocate you then?

    Apparently not. Here's the link to the Mythbusters experiment with bodypaint:

    Indeed - as I mentioned earlier under the Pussy Galore entry I kind of wished her sister had more of a showing in the film (rather than being knocked off promptly by Odd Job).

    1. Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress) - 'Dr. No'
    [image=http://www.swiss-history.com/swiss-people/Ursula-Andress.jpg]
    Has there ever been a more famous bikini in the history of film? Every Bond girl that followed had a little bit of Honey Ryder; she acted as both the first and the prototype of all Bond's women. Sometimes the classics really are the best.

    No surprise. Arguments could be made about how other girls were more beautiful, more useful or more interesting; but as the list compiler noted she was the first and the standard that all others are measured against.

    That's it for the list. :) Some of the choices and/or placings were daft though.

    I'm one of those who do think there are a lot of more interesting Bond girls, but I can concede that she's the original and that brings her to the top.

    She's definitely one of the better Bond girls, though not my personal favourite.

    Bardem is excellent but Fiennes is, imo, one of the worst actors of his generation. Bad, bad choice.

    I think Fiennes is remarkable. Pure Teutonic villainy in Schindler's List, sweet and a little befuddled but believably brave (and quietly in love) in The Constant Gardener, and all hissing understatement in the Potter series.

    And yes, Bardem has been terrific in everything I've seen with him, from No Country to Vicky Cristina Barcelona to Love in the Time of Cholera.

    I wonder what their roles will be: Fried or foe...? [face_thinking]
