Bardem is great; Fiennes I've only seen in villainous roles, one of which he overplays ("Schindler's List") and one of which he underplays ("Harry Potter"), and neither of which work for me.

I think he was good in Strange Days and The Constant Gardener. Nice cameo in The Hurt Locker, too.

With Tinker, Tailor... coming out in September, I suspect Tom Hardy will be the next actor to be touted as a contender for the next 007. I'm still hoping that Craig gets to do at least one more good Bond film before he leaves (I didn't much like QoS).

    Way too short.

Fassbender all the way. I suspect that these two will be the main contenders from the fans, before it ends up being someone else entirely.

I remember the fans favouring Clive Owen last time. They didn't want Daniel Craig.

Yes, well, of course he says that! ;)

"...I read the script the other day and I'm more excited about this than I was about Casino because we've kind of got a classic Bond movie plus lots of other things". Asked by Favreau whether "classic Bond" meant a return to gadgets, the actor suggested the new movie would continue to be more plot driven, saying, "Actually trying to find something that's new and interesting is difficult. [M]ostly the technology is in the public arena now".

Despite initial uncertainties regarding the crippling debut of M[GM}, Daniel Craig's third movie as James Bond is expected to begin shooting later this year, with a release date scheduled for 26th October 2012.

I find it hard to believe they can top Casino Royale. That was an impressive movie.

Yeah, really the only error I can think of is how the newspaper at the start of the film knew Bond, who never speaks and was never captured, was English. What, "big white guy with savage tendencies"=English? :p

Good actor + good director + good screenwriter should = good movie.

Seeing is believing, but Bardem in a Bond film is very exciting. Bardem by himself can sometimes lift a film.

Like the name. Not quite sure how well it fits in with the rest of the series - Moonraker and GoldenEye are the closest comparisons I can think of - but I do like it.

I'd wish for something more Bondesque, but it's not bad and in the end, the title doesn't particularly matter.

Skyfall isn't bad as titles go.

I haven't been paying close attention to casting, but the addition of Albert Finney could be very interesting. I liked him in The Bourne Ultimatum.

Not that impressed by the ladies for the film. The French actress looks nice but is it that hard to cast attractive women that most people have actually heard of?

Sam Mendes says the movie will have "all the elements of a classic Bond movie, including - to quell any rumours - lots of action"
So, if it is classic Bond, will it have Q and gadgets?

The movie, which sees the return of Dame Judi Dench as spy boss M, will also star Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Javier Bardem as the villain of the piece.

    Excellent!

If you have not googled Berenice Marlohe yet I suggest you do so. She is very Bond-ish.

Same as the last one. Hopefully they put it on the screen though, this time.

    Ordinary title. Excellent cast.

Roger Deakins as cinematographer = I am excite.

When I first heard Skyfall, I was thinking, "Eh, that's kind of bland." And then I remembered that the last one was named Quantam of Solace and I was like, "Actually, bland is fine."

A Brief History Of Bond Film Titles
As Bond 23 approaches, we look at the films to date...

"With the recent flurry of website domain name registrations by Sony?s ?brand protection? company, it looks the 23rd James Bond film will be given the vaguely video-game-esque title Skyfall - we'll find out for sure this Thursday when a major Bond announcement is expected. As little is currently known about the plot apart from some of its likely locations (Scotland, Turkey, South Africa) and possible cast (Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes are both strongly rumoured but still officially unconfirmed), and Skyfall isn?t an original Ian Fleming title, it?s impossible to say yet how the new title was chosen or what its connection to the story might be. But what about the rest of the Bond films? From whence did they get their usually cool, often ludicrous and frequently irrelevant monikers? We squeeze into a pair of tiny trunks to investigate?

    The Fleming Ones

The titles: Dr. No through to The Living Daylights, plus Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace

Where are they from? Most of the Bond films? titles obviously come from Ian Fleming?s original stories, regardless of how wildly their plots veered away from the source. In total, thirteen of the official Bond films are named after Fleming?s novels and four after his short stories. Only one was altered: 'From A View To A Kill' would lose its initial preposition despite being trailed with its original title in the credits of the previous film, Octopussy.

Are they relevant? Those that are relevant are usually the ones that share a character?s name (Dr. No, Goldfinger, Octopussy), but many just employ one of the cool-sounding phrases that Fleming loved to use (Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only). The mission 007 is given in the fourth Bond film is bafflingly called Operation Thunderball, possibly Fleming?s most convoluted way of shoehorning in an awesome made-up word."

When I think of Bond titles, the one that leaps to mind immediately as the worst in the series has to be Quantum of Solace. In fact, that's got to be one of the worst titles in the history of cinema. If it were not the title of a huge, long lasting franchise, they would not have been able to get away with that.

It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
