That's hilarious and exactly right.
Actually, Gobi-1, Pink is not too young. She's exactly the right age for a Bond girl, because EON usually looks for women in their early to mid-20s. However, you did give a good reason, and I applaud you.
Sourdust, you're probably thinking of 25-30 minutes that were in For Your Eyes Only.
Also, I'm in agreement with you on Pink; she's soooo not a Bond girl (but yummy in her own, messed up way )
You're probably right, E_S. I should buy you a stainless steel delicatessen for pointing that out.
Of course it's almost ridiculous after saying Clive Owen should be the next Bond, but I think Alex Kingston (I think that's her name), also from Croupier would be a fine Bond girl.
Or Kylie Minogue.
I wanna see Natalie Portman as a future Bond Girl.
I just like seeing Natalie Portman, period.
She was already in Mars Attacks! with Pierce, where she's a teenager and he's an adult, so I don't know if that would be wierd seeing them together. I want to see Monica Bellucci as the next Bond girl. She's probably the sexiest woman on the planet.
Yeah, Monica B could be a great Bond girl. But I also think the blonde who played the Borg on Voyager would make a great Bond girl, complete with icy exterior.
That would be Jeri Ryan, not that I watch Star Trek. She was in Down With Love with Ewan McGregor.
My favorite evil Bond girl would Fiona Volpe from Thunderball. I love the scene where she's in the tub and she asks Bond to give her something to put on when she gets out and he hands her a pair of slippers! That was great!
Another actress I'd like to see as a Bond Girl is Jennifer Garner.
I read on IanFleming.org that all the Bond movies were going to be re-released on VHS and DVD in November. Including Die Another Day. And then they were going on moratorium (sp?) a few months after that...Jan. 2004, except for DAD. Now's my chance to complete my DVD collection!
The DVD sets come out on November 18th. Volume One came out last October so you could probably find that still in the stores somewhere. Here's the arangement of the movies.
License to Kill
The Man With the Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Tomorrow Never Dies
Comes Out Novemeber 18th
From Russia With Love
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever
For Your Eyes Only
The Living Daylights
The World Is Not Enough
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Die Another Day
Live and Let Die
A View to a Kill
Never Say Never Again(1983) and Casino Royale(1967) are unofficial Bond movies and are not a part of the Official Series. They are however both on DVD.
Hey, Gobi. We both had the same idea of posting that here. Heh. Great minds think alike.
I'm really going to have to cut down on buying Star Wars figures so I'll have enought money to get Vol. 2 and 3 to complete my collection.
Plus the Indiana Jones DVD set and The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers Extended Cut also come out in November. There's too many great DVDs to buy! lol
Why are these box sets arranged so haphazardly? I wish they sold them by actor(s)- i.e. the Connery and Lazenby films in 1 set, the Moore Bonds in another, and the Dalton and Brosnan ones in a third.
The box sets were supposed to come out one-per-year. But, because of the success of Volume One last November, they decided to release both Two and Three this year. They'll be raking in the dough.
I wish Connery and Moore had done commentaries for them.
They mix up all the movies so folks who don't like Dalton or Moore will still end up buying them.
Best Bond: Connery (Dalton a close second)
Worst Bond: Moore (surely no explanation is needed)
Best Film: From Russia with Love (serious and believable espionage)
Most overated Film: Goldfinger (Lot's of great moments but the plot, especially the end, really didn't do anything for me)
Best Villian: Blofed (FRWL and Thunderball, Eric Pohlmann did a great job with the voice)
Best Bond Girl: Too many good ones for me to poick just one
I like Goldfinger a lot, but I agree, it's extremely overrated. Especially coming after the sublime FRWL. It's interesting that you pick FRWL/Thunderball Blofelds. I never really thought of it, but he was a great villian....
Now that I think about it, seeing Blofeld's torso...not his face...while petting that white cat is a lot more interesting than seeing the entire character like in Twice. The first four movies, Blofeld is a big mystery.
Who is your favorite actor that played James Bond?
Pierce Brosnan WITHOUT doubt! He LOOKS like Bond, speaks like Bond, and is just SMOOTH.
What is your favorite James Bond movie?
Tie between Moonraker and Goldeneye really..I want to see Brosnan redo Moonraker! Even if they had cheap yellow suits
But if I had to go with one...Goldeneye. It's just the perfect Bond story and still has evil ruskies in it.
Who is your favorite Villain?
Again, another tossup between Baron Samedi and Jaws. However, Alec Trevelyan comes in a close 2nd. A /very/ close second.
Did you perhaps misspell Thunderball? Or The Living Daylights?
