One of my best friends ACTUALLY met James Earl Jones on Friday when he was covering his public speaking tours for the TV station he works at.

When he told me, I about fell over with SW geek hormones and I think I had to clean up a little bit afterward...but I digress.

Anyway, we were both a little shocked to find out that JEJ did not mention Star Wars once. Not during the speech or during the 15 minutes that he spent backstage talking to my friend. I don't know if I should read too much into this but I do remember a recorded message from JEJ during one of these speeches that talked about his voice being used for Ep 3, and now he isn't saying a word about it...Did Lucas shut him up or shut him out...of is JEJ just tired of talking to all of us about it. HMM?

Maybe Lucas did shut him up. (Like how they can't talk about some actors on Hyperspace 'cause contracts aren't signed.)

    BUT

James Earl Jones has had a long career of stage, TV and film work, voice-related and not... he DOES have other things to talk about besides SW you know. :p

    Rick McCallum loves you!

He's probably sick of talking about it. He does have a life outside of Star Wars.

    What's with the "()"

Do you have anything against spelling out his name?

Before it was the $... now it's the ().

Don't forget "Luca_" and "HAydeN"... I kinda understood the Luca$ thing, but now she just makes no sense...

On topic, James Earl Jones probably didn't want to make the same mistake David Prowse did and reveal too much information.

I think Mr. Jones is just keeping schtum to avoid spoiling things. After all, the appearence of Vader and what he says in Ep3 is one of the most eagerly-awaited things.

You know, you can spell his name out.

Jesus, you act as if he went to your house and abused you.

    Too bad . . .

I think Lucas told him to shut up. He's already mentioned a few things he shouldn't have. And all hell will not break lose if he is not in the film. With technology today, his voice can be easily replicated by computer effects. Duh.

And besides the fact that he never appeared in any of the films to begin with.

    David Prowse played Darth Vader.
    Sebastian Shaw played Darth Vader.
Hayden Christensen will be playing Darth Vader in E3.
James Earl Jones merely provides the voice.

    Clear now?

He won't even be hired until they start doing ADR, right? He's probably keeping mum due to contractual obligations or because he just doesn't want to speak up prematurely.

do you think at the end of episode 3, that the imperial march will play, the familiar breathing will commence, and the screen will be black, and the camera will pan away to reveal the back of darth's helmet, then his whole body, and quickly he turns toward the camera and the last thing we see is one of his eyes fly out at you?

thats my dream ending for ep. 3
