Tidewater, VA January Meeting Minutes

-Just a reminder to everyone that if you have anything to bring up, events to suggest, or input please feel free to bring it up at meetings or on the forums.

-Our Site Administrator has made some significant changes to the website regarding the layout. If you notice any glitches or errors please let him know or post on the forum so that it can be corrected. More improvements are on the way as the site is updated we can look forward to many new things, including a new Private Messaging system.

-Our next meeting is March 1st, 2008 and we will have a raffle as well as show and tell. So if you have any props, costumes, toys, or anything else you would like to share with the group, please feel free to bring them in.

-The charter and by-laws are still a work in progress. The council is working continually to get them finished and when they are complete you will be receiving a copy of all the updates.

Upcoming Events

Marscon ? January 18 ? 20th, 2008. This is a small con in Williamsburg. Several members will be attending on Saturday to enjoy the con and support our local 501st garrison who will be conducting a Droid hunt and a few panels.

Star Wars Birthday Party ? February 2nd, 2008. (Sometime between 3-5pm; recreation center in Chesapeake, Greenbrier Area) We have recently been contacted to attend a child?s birthday party and have several members who will go in costume to take pictures and socialize with the kids.

Stellarcon ? March 14 ? 16, 2008. We have been invited to this invent by the Carolina Garrison (The event will take place in North Carolina). The TA will have a presence at this event.

Dragoncon ? Labor Day weekend 2008. We have three rooms reserved at the Marriott at this event. If you are planning on attending please speak up as room space is limited.

*We have also been invited to a Game Expo in North Carolina, our event coordinator will be posting more on this event on the forums shortly.

GALACTICON
We have several vendors and fan groups who have expressed an interest in coming. We have also lined up a few panels and are working on more. If you would like to conduct a panel or know anyone who would be interested in doing so, please post your intentions on the forums or contact our event coordinator (Anakinos). If you would like to participate or volunteer to help out with this event please post your intentions.

** We do not have a meeting next month (February), if you would like to host a get together or set up a social gathering please post your ideas on the forums.
