I realize that's a grandiose statement for a halfwitt cartoon assmonkey but that's what happens.

If it weren't for Jar Jar, Palpatine wouldn't have been given supreme powers in the first place and therefore allowed to run amok doing whatever the hell he wants with out authorization. Yeah he was just an idiotic puppet with no instincts but it's still his fault the Empire rose in the end. As if we need another reason to hate him.

 

i remember when tpm first came out one of the rumors for episode 3 was that anakin trains jar jar to be a jedi and gets frustrated and kills him

 

True he gave emergency powers, however it would have happened anyway, if Palps can blind the jedi from his identity, then he can manuever any regular schmuck into doing anything, if it wasn't Jar Jar, woulda been someone else shortly thereafter.

Jar-Jar has a MAJOR purpose.

His purpose was to be the first fully interactive major CGI character in a movie. But there is a second part to this - he has yet to fulfill his destiny as the first:

completely CGI chartacter to be replaced - frame by frame - by a new group of CGI artists and voiced over by a completely new actor.

Thusly, completing his turn by becoming the most expensive CGI character ever.

 

Jar Jar's purpose is to annoy Obiwan and Quigon. If he didn't annoy them then they would of never got to the Gungan City. And if they never got to the Gungan City then they would never win the Battle of Naboo. See without the Gungans and Jar Jar's stupidity, Naboo would of been in the hands of the Trade Federation.
