I've been thinking a lot about Sonic lately... I also feel old... but dammit Sonic is awesome!

 

Ah Pogs....well now I feel old also because I had them too. Ofcourse we called them Flippo's and we had them here with the Lonny Tunes on them and not Sonic, but still...

 

I must be really young, then, because I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

 

Either you are really young, or very old...since I dont see an age in your profile I wont judge ...but Flippo's (and I assume Pogs too) where small round cartons with images of Loony Tunes characters (Or Sonic in case of pogs) that you could collect in bags of chips from the Lays brand.

 

We had many many different kinds of Pogs. I think I still have somewhere a box full of Dragon Ball Z pogs.

 

Well yeah, after the initial succes here with the Loony Tunes many fake-ones (at least to me) came too with different things on them. I should still have an entire collection in their official folders somewhere...I knew some of them awarded me a Gameboy (the see-trough kind) when they had a compass with letters on their back that, by using a treasure map read a sentence...solving it and you could win stuff.

 

No, these were official Lays ones. I was too old to play with pogs but some of them ended on my wall.

 

We had these in the Lays bags of chips:





Admittingly, at that point in time Lays were known here as Smiths

 

We called Pogs "Tazos". It's currently become slang for Euros, probably because the new coins were much bigger than our small pesetas. "How much is this? Oh, just 5 tazos"

 

Not to mention the Army & Airforce Exchange Services uses pogs with gift certificate amounts labeled on them to give out as change, cause its cheaper to ship pogs then it is to ship actual coinage.

 

I feel so lost.

Isn't there some kind of law against underage e-drinking?

Anyone here read comics? Other than Sonja, I mean.

 

Depends on what comics you mean, but I read quite a lot yes. From the obvious ones (SW and Indiana Jones) to the superhero comics (Batman, Daredevil altough I am catching up with both of them so i dont know a thing about the current series, most of the Marvel titles altough I dropped Spider-Man after that awfull A New Day mess, or however it was called. And then there is my absolute favorite at the moment: The Walking Dead. What do you read Schwarz?

 

Marvel and indies. I will read anything Warren Ellis writes.

Almost all of my comics are Star Wars, with most of those being Legacy and KOTOR. I don't really think that Marvel/DC stuff is for me, too many continuity problems for my taste, although I did read Watchmen and liked it.

 

I'm doing pretty good. Getting ready to go to work.

 

The only comics I read are Star Wars comics. Original, huh? Actually, no, that's not true. I read Mass Effect, too.
