JC Anniversary: 3 Years of SotS

Reading this thread made me realize just how much history this place has. I'm fairly new here (not as new as my name shows, as I've changed it a few times) and find it to be the most addictive place anywhere.

I really can relate to your story SotS. I too made some stupid, immature posts getting past nicks banned (though not nearly as bad as your mistakes apparently . Now, having posted under my former name SnapHiss and now this one (only changed because I like the way this one looks), I'm making new friendships and strengthing old ones. I am older and more mature than I was then, and I now understand some of the intracasies of this place. I am soon (hopefully) to become a City Rep. in FanForce, and am very excited about that.

I got a lot out of your story, and I'm glad you posted it. Maybe when I've been here for two years, I'll make a similar post. Until then, have a good day and I hope to talk to you in the future.

I can't believe it's been one whole year since I posted this thread, and three whole years since I first registered. A lot of things have changed since March 8, 1999... I was 15 then; I'm 18 now. I was living in Puerto Rico then; I now reside in Miami, FL. I was out of school; I'm now back in school. I was anxiously waiting for TPM; I'm now anxiously waiting for AOTC. I was a mere newbie then; I'm now a retired moderator.

But some things haven't changed... I'm still as addicted as ever to this place, even if it's not the same as it used to be. And I still love movies, especially that saga set in a galaxy far, far away, the saga that has been the catalyst for 3 years of fun and friendship. Thank you all, for making the past 3 years special for me.

 

Hey SotS, I hope you don't mind, but I baked you a cake for your 2 year anniversary!

*sigh* This thread made me remember how much I love the JC . Though I was pretty immature when I started out here (in result getting me banned ), I feel I've become much better since I was let back in around September. Well, SotS, perhaps not the first big name I ever saw, but a great influence. Congrats on 3 years, hope to read your posts for another 3

Congrats on three years SotS. There aren't that many people that can say that they are legends of this place, but no one can deny you that status. You've had an influence on a lot of people here, myself included. Here's to many more years enjoying one man's story about a young slave and a farmboy.

I know that you've heard me say this in the past, but it bears repeating, I think. When I joined these boards and was a crummy newbie, you were the member that I looked up to, and wanted to be like. The kindness and patience that I have developed as a member (I still need a little more work on patience, eh cbjedi? ) is the result of reading your posts from the day I started posting.

Today marks the 3-year anniversary of the day I escaped from banland and registered this username. We've been through a lot together, this little username and I. We counted down the days til' TPM, fought the first battles of the basher/gusher war, were attacked by an army of 500 Internal Server Errors, survived Slackergate, confessed about my checkered past, suffered through the Snowboard move, were promoted to moderator, took a break from modding, returned after darthpsychotic was vanquished and we're now counting down the days til' AOTC. We've come full circle, SotS. We've made it after all.
