    68. Classic Indy fight scene, pure and simple. And extremely fun.

    67. For some reason, when I first saw this in the theater, I really, really loved this part. The pulsing sound that depicts the overwhelming power of the aliens, coupled with the iconic melting face at the end, just blew me away. And the acting was superbly done, too. For days I walked around saying, "I'm ready, I want to know!!!"

    66. Haha, cute...[face_love]

    65. This scene gave us a background for Indy's character, which was excellent for a first film.

I really love #65. I'm pretty sure it's the first time the ark theme is played, one of my favorite themes of the indy saga, it's so mysterious and kind of ominous as well, especially with indy describing it at the same time.

I really love #65 as well. I love how it sets up the story and Indy's way of explaining things is riveting.

No, 73 does not include the song and dance number at the beginning.

Here's something to keep in mind so there's no more confusion. I'm aware some of the scene titles may sound deceiving and it may appear as if some of your favorite scenes are ranking lower than usual. That may not be the case. I tried to take screen caps in sequential order of what happens in each particular scene. The first image reflects where the chapter begins and the last image is where the chapter ends(I divided the scenes up by DVD chapters). If anything you were expecting is not represented in image form, it's a good bet to assume it's not included in that chapter and is somewhere higher up on the list.

With that in mind, here we go with the next batch. I'm cutting the scenes down to two a piece for a little while until we get higher up:

#60 - Confrontation at Sea (Raiders of the Lost Ark)

#61's a classic for sure. It sets up the rest of that sequence so beautifully. One of my favorite parts of Raiders for sure!

I must say, i'm surprised at #59. That scene doesnt particularly stand out for me.

There is a second part to the Well of the Souls scene. We'll have to wait and see where it places. ;)

And I agree with you, Veloz. I was surprised myself at some of the things that were mentioned. Ransacked(#59) is yet another example. But that's where the fun comes in; you never know what you're gonna get.

Yay confrontation at sea! One of my personal favorites...and here's why. Indiana Jones hiding in the ship. And then when Indy appears on the Nazi sub, and John Williams theme music comes in full force, and Katenga and his crew are cheering Indy on. It is truly a great heroic moment for the character, and one of my favorite scenes from this film.

#57 is one of those really "Indy" moments.

I loved the "Get that greaser" portion of #58, but Mutt struck me as kind of annoying when I first saw the movie. Now, he's grown on me a bit.

HS: i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks so [face_laugh]

KOTCS got bashed by many, but #57 is right up there with those classic Indy moments in my opinion. It's fun and it's a heck of an entrance for the character. Like father, like son. Indy always gets great entrances, and Mutt desserved nothing less than that.

And #58 is one of those really freaky Indy scenes. I must say, i dunno what's worse: the rats or the bugs

QGR: I know what you mean about Mutt. I didn't like him a whole lot in the months leading up to the film's release, but once I saw the film, I was pleasantly surprised with what they did with the character. I actually like Mutt now.

I suppose it might've been that they never really showed any likeable scenes with Mutt in them in any of the trailers. He always struck me as this tough-talking wannabe Indy that simply didn't belong. But after seeing his softer, deeper side, especially in that "He must've lost his mind" scene when Mutt talks about Oxley, I do actually care about him now.

But I'm still glad he didn't get to keep the hat. ;)

#57, Mutt's intro on the tracks and the malt-shop exposition scene, are terrific, and one of my favorite sequences in the film, despite it being basically dialogue scenes. Each IJ movie has its enthralling exposition scene, where the maguffin of the story is introduced, such as in the lecture hall in Raiders with the chalkboard and the illustrated Bible on the desk. This one in the malt shop is really effective because it has the duel task of introducing Mutt as this bristly, would-be tough guy who loves his mother and as a child mentored under a respectable professor of archeology, whilst simultaneously describing the Crystal Skull, where and what it might be, why we should care, and what's at stake. That it ends in a brawl between greasers and squares, with rock-n-roll blasting on the soundtrack, makes it that much more fun and evocative of the period. 4 stars!
