That metaphor isn't really cogent. When it comes to being innocent I have a recognized talent which I am using as a shield to immuize myself from the consequences of monstrously immoral and criminal behavior? Except, if one has a talent for innocence, that would imply I'm not guilty of anything. I am not sure you really thought through your sentence structure before composing that remark.
