[JCC] This thread must stay on Page 1 thread

Tunick, everyone understands that the social thread rule annoys you. You don't have to remind us every day.

 

Anyone remember what the forum looked like two or three years ago when it was almost all game threads, social clubs, and spam?

Yes, and only a brave few took it upon themselves to fix things.

Especially because they were community building. People would talk to one another, get to know each other and build friendships.

That was the problem with the Page 1 thread, though. It ceased to be a place where people were talking about anything and was nothing more than a glorified +1 thread. Like Jeff said, the Official Spam Thread was locked for being too spammy. The Page 1 thread was no better.

I sure as hell don't see why they're not allowed (or rather, limited) now.

For the same reason they've been limited in the past. Because they take over the forum. Just like any general topic that begins to swamp the forum is eventually curtailed. There's a reason there's an official computer help thread now, there's a reason why people have often pushed for an official love advice threads. And amid all the complaints, no one seems to remember the Reformation of the Reformed JCC Reform when party/social threads were all but wiped out in favor of a weekly theme thread.
