    We have a winner!!

While not my all-time favorite movie, here's one of my all-time favorite monologues!

    [image=http://images.dawgsports.com/images/admin/Nicholson_closeup_A_Few_Good_Men.jpg]

Son, we live in a world that has walls.
And those walls have to be guarded by men
with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You,
Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater
    responsibility than you can possibly
fathom. You weep for Santiago and you
curse the marines. You have that luxury.
You have the luxury of not knowing what I
know: That Santiago's death, while tragic,
probably saved lives. And my existence,
    while grotesque and incomprehensible to
    you, saves lives.

    (beat)

You don't want the truth. Because deep
down, in places you don't talk about at
parties, you want me on that wall. You need
    me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code,
loyalty...we use these words as the
backbone to a life spent defending
something. You use 'em as a punchline.

    (beat)

I have neither the time nor the
inclination to explain myself to a man who
rises and sleeps under the blanket of the
very freedom I provide, then questions the
manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer
you just said thank you and went on your
way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a
    weapon and stand a post.

Either way, I don't give a damn what you
    think you're entitled to!

    LOL @ edit!

    Ok.

Historical: This is a very tough one. There are a lot of people that I really admire for lots of different reasons so it sort of a challenge to pick a ?favorite?. So I?ll answer your question by picking some random areas and favorites in there.

Science: Albert Einstein Should be fairly obvious why but I?ll just say that beyond his amazing genius, he made science accessible to the average person. Beyond even that, he was a humanist and a all-around good guy. He was never obsessed with his own celebrity and managed to be at once a revolutionary thinker and a positive force in our society.

Politics: I?d have to say George Washington. Say what you want about his military career, but he was the perfect man to be our first President. He had an opportunity to seize power onto himself and establish a new Monarchy here in the US but he set it aside for the good of a fledgling democracy. I cannot imagine a more amazing political decision.

Politics 2: Winston Churchill. Perhaps the finest world leader we?ve ever had.

Human Rights: Martin Luther King Jr. and Ghandi. These two men will always be what I think of when I contemplate how we should protest injustice.

Religion and Philosophy: Jesus. Whether you?re a believer or not, there is no discounting the fact that his philosophy is something we should all strive to live.

Present Day This is also much more difficult. With the flaws of each person so readily observable and scrutinized, it?s almost impossible to find someone who you truly admire on all levels. That being said, I truly admire Bjorn Lumborg. He is one of the most lucid and rational thinkers I?ve seen in our modern day and a man I would truly be giddy to meet.

Damn! You took all three of my choices!! :p

    1. He was a wonderful human being. I may disagree with him on policy, but it'd be disingenous to pretned like he had a bad heart.
    2. He was a great leader. Again, I disagreed with him a lot, but there's no denying that he led this country though a time of war and economic hardship.
    3. He showed that being disabled didn't mean that you could not contribute.

    lol!

Favorite Actor: Morgan Freeman. I love the guy because he never turns in a bad performance (that I've seen). More than that, he's an outstanding guy and I'd be proud to know him.

Favorite Actress: Meryl Streep. Same reason as Morgan Freeman.

Impersonation's hard to pull off on teh interwebs....

    Umm...

One of his more powerful moments
