Hello everybody, I'm relatively new here, and I would like to let you know that Jedi Academy for the PC and Xbox has been released for Android by Beloko Games. You will need files from the actual disc to run it of course. Here is the link for it on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beloko.jk3 They've also ported Jedi Outcast: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beloko.jk2
I'm confused a little here. So they're selling Jedi Knight 2 and 3 on the google play store but you need to buy a copy from Steam or somewhere else for it to work? Aside from that, did Beloko Games get permission from the relevant parties to do this, let alone charge for it? It just seems a little odd to me. Mind you, if I were to play either of those games on any Android device I'd play them on the Ouya so I could play them with a controller and TV.
The way it works is the app only contains code written by the developer, not from the game, hence why you need files from the game. The only thing that the app does is run the files that you provide from your legally purchased game. So its perfectly okay for them to charge because its the app only contains their code, while you provide the actual game files.
