It all depends on what you want to look like, and what you want to spend. When I made my costume, I shopped Wal-Mart, House of Fabrics, Hancock Fabrics, etc.

The two best places IMO is looking around at JoAnne's (or was it Michaels?), and the Fabric place on Stephanie and Sunset in Henderson, next to Toys R Us. They had a really good selection.

I also found pieces parts from a leather supply place on Boulder Highway near I-95, and various Goodwill and Salvation Army places.

The thrift store option is good if you are creative and have a good imagination.

As for boots, don't use boots that have laces, or look like cowboy boots, and you will be ahead of most costumers. I got some on Ebay.

Good luck! My Jedi costume ended up being a money pit, but only because I let it.

I got some cheap fabric at walmart, i used to at AOTC opening night.

It was ok, but Walmart has some fabric.
