I wore my work-in-progress Jedi costume to SouthPark Mall tonight to take my son (Darth Vader) and nephew (Darth Maul) trick or treating. This is my first costume and I put a lot of work into this ... bought a sewing machine, took sewing classes, dyed fabric, bought new fabric, dyed that fabric, cut & dyed leather, tore apart a purse from KMart to make a buckle, etc. I think it was worth it as I got plenty of compliments. I even heard Neo (who I think is/was a QCJO guy?) say "Not bad."

Here's where it's at right now:

Still on the list of things to do: sand, prime, paint and clearcoat my food capsules; finish wrapping the first large pouch and then make 2 smaller ones for the belt; dress up the boots a bit; and finish the saber hilt I've been tinkering with for some time.

All in all, I wish I ahd been doing this for several years now, but it's still a blast even after the movies are finished.

Anybody else do any SW-related Halloween stuff?
