I'm so glad I found this place. There are all sorts of topics about New Jedi, but nothing about those of Prequel Republic. I love the old Jedi.

I think my favourite will always be Kenobi.

I really really also like Barriss Offee (a beautyful woman) & her master Luminara Unduli as well as Shaak Ti.

Other than them I like

Yoda
Anakin
Luke
Plo Koon
Ki-Adi Mundi

Except for that old hag Jocasta Nu there aren't really many Jedi from the movies that I don't like.

It was all the lightsaber action that attracted me to Star Wars in the first place (in particular the 3-way battle in TPM .I love the whole mythology behind the Jedi. My favorites are Obi-Wan, Mace Windu and Luke Skywalker.

Reviving this thread ...

Alrighty so I have some questions, and I want to see what your opinions are on this.

I was reading the Revenge of the Sith novel today (It's the hardcover one, and I'm on page 317, just starting "part three") and I noticed something.

Just before part II ended, and just before Anakin told Mace Windu that Palpatine is Sidious, Mace contacts Yoda about their progress. Here is the conversation about how they were going to have Palpatine step down.
[blockquote](pg.306-307)
Mace: "I have chosen four of our best. Master Tiin, Master Kolar, and Master Fisto are all here, in the temple. They are preparing already."
Yoda: "What about Skywalker? The chosen one,"
Mace: "Too much of a risk. I am the fourth."
Yoda: "On watch you have been too long, my padawan. Rest you must."
Mace: "I will, Master. When the Republic is safe once more. We are waiting for your vote."
Yoda: "Very well then. Have my vote, you do. May the Force be with you."
Mace: "And with you, Master."
[/blockquote]
So was Mace Windu the personal padawan of Master Yoda?

Great to see this thread is still around!

As for Mace being Yoda's personal padawan, we just don't know. I haven't seen anything in a novel telling us who Mace's personal master was... unless I'm forgetting something, which is quite possible.

Well which is why I referred to the quote's above. Usually a master does not call someone my padawan unless they were their padawan before or currently are.

Example:

Yoda would call other Padawans, such as Anakin either by their name or just state padawan.

Yet in this case, he told Mace MY padawan, implying Yoda taught him (personally).
But that's just my point of view from what I've learned.

Someone needs to write a book on Mace's past. That'd be awesome.

Yeah, it would be really nice to see something like that.

Yoda calls others "his" padawan though.

Whos says this:

Fought well you have, my old padawan.
This is just the beginning!

;)

Not quite. Dooku was trained by someone else, can't remember the name but he's mentioned in Dark Rendevouz.

Thame Cerulian or something like that.

Ah yes. He trained as a "youngling" under Yoda until he became padawan to Thame Cerulian (according to wookieepedia) My bad.

it also says Mace Windu was taught as a youngling by T'ra Saa and Yoda until he was taken as a padawan by an unnamed master.

I'd guess that's rederring to the fact that Corran is EU.

Yeah, you're probably right. Aayla Secura was originally EU as well, so I think that goes a long way in legitimizing EU Jedi and other characters in general. Despite the fact that most EU is some level of canon or another.

Well, there's that and I like parts of the EU, so I've got no problem with it, but I'm about that careful usually too.
