Man this thread is slow. I remember when this was in the EUC. It was booming. That was the only lightsider temple I would post at. Maybe I should post here more often.

ANNOUNCEMENT

A new EZboard, the Lightside Lounge has been set up primarily for socialising. All the fan fiction threads and social threads (except the dorm and gardens) have been moved there.

The JC temples will be mainly used now to welcome new members and for any announcments to be made

The Academy shall in the near future be restructed with all the locked threads being archived. New classes will be set up as well as an area for Padawans to chat among themselves, get to know each other and bring up any issues they wish to discuss with each other before taking before a Jedi of a higher rank.

PMs will be going out giving passwords for certain areas of the Lounge. If you DO NOT recieve one, PM me and I will get it to you

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Council has just voted on several changes and reforms.
I. Padawan Training-
From now on, only six missions will be required of all Padawans. However, these must include missions 7, 8, and 9.

Here is the suggested regimen between Knight/Master and Padawan for training:
First and foremost, a padawan and master should form a close bond between each other(ex. dislikes, likes, maybe some personal things).this part of Padawan/Master training should be practiced throughout the entire time they are together and perhaps even after training.
Next the Masters should try to give some oral lessons to their Padawans (ex. short stories, little proverbs, etc.) that make them actually think about love, kindness, patience, and life in general (You can find these things all over the internet).
Next the two should take some relatively small missions with both Padawan and master online at the same time(ex. find trouble making threads, solve small disputes, etc.)
Then, once advanced and having the ability to work together as a team, the two should try to take some time and go to boards other than TFN where it's usually more hostile to newcomers (after the mission, it should be reported at the Meeting Hall at the Jedi Temple ezboard)...
These four steps will be adequate for a Padawan's training and it should take about 2-3 weeks if both Padawan and Master don?t take a leave of absence.

After a Knight/Master takes on a new Padawan, he/she is to report on their accomplishments in 3 weeks to the Council... and if the Padawan says that they have been doing nothing in the 3 weeks, the Council will review the Knight/Master on whether he/she should be put under the inactive Knights/Masters list and then ask the Padawan if he/she would like to choose another Knight/Master that might be available.

Each Padawan should assist his/her Master/Knight in his/her patrol mission- that is why Padawans are not given independent Patrol missions.

II. Trials: Every Padawan?s trial will be decided on individually by the Master in charge of the trial and that Padawan?s master. Failure on the part of the Council member and/or trainer to promptly execute the trial will result in reassignment of the job to someone else, and if it continues, to disciplinary action and/or placement as inactive/Missing in Action. The trial will be something appropriate to each Padawan?s areas of expertise and so on.

III. Missing in Action: I will, from now on, hear requests to have members placed on inactive lists (or Missing in Action). If someone requests this, I will investigate, and if the person has not posted within three weeks, PM and possibly email the target person, and if they do not respond within two or three weeks, I will place them on that list. Any member who has not posted in two months will be automatically placed on such a list when it comes to my attention.
The Council will begin a vote to unCouncil any Master on the Council who comes under above provisions.

IV. Council Communication: One Master and/or member of the Council will be given the responsibility of reporting weekly to the membership in the Temples on the decisions and actions of the Council.

V. Background checks will be reduced to a one-week maximum.

VI. Absences:Masters, Knights, and even Padawans must announce leaves of absence or withdrawal from the Order. Failure to announce withdrawal will be dealt with by the Council. Someone on an announced leave of absence is free from being placed inactive or voted off anything until the timed of the announced absence is over, which is when, if they are still gone, the AWOL period starts.

VII. The number of seats on the Council will be gradually increased to eight, and then to nine.

VIII. When I am able, I will begin to teach courses on the following subjects at the Academy: Combat Training, Covert Operations/Intelligence Analysis, the Force, and how to understand and defeat Sith. Padawans will be expected to take these seriously, if they choose to attend.
