    Hmmmmmm, yeah. - kinda!

    :p

    We know what his sabre is SI. For it still to come out of his cane would be ,... well - silly. {but when has that ever stopped Lucas! - or indeed made the films bad?}

I wonder what the novel mentions about it? - I would ask someone but, now I've got to the point where I will quite happily wait another 37 or so days :D

You've probably realized this since your post but, Yoda is not on any platform when training the "younglings" and I do not think he is on a balcony either, I think he is in a smallish side room.

Well, if it is in his cane in SI's script it still could have changed - a lot of stuff we've held to be true has changed in the final version. Threepio first appearing with his coverings is just the tip of the iceberg

Just 20 days 'til the novel comes out and the insiders are still teasing us with info. :p

I still disagree with Shmi applying 3PO's coverings.

    No. That's not true. That's impossible. ;)

as for Yoda's cane, let's just wait and see...

Pictures have been seen of Yoda, lightsaber in hand. It's NOT in his cane.

Indeed, it is NOT in his cane:

Look at the movie still inset.

Even if Yoda "peeled" it out like a bannana, the cane would be too small to hold that lightsaber.

(and, yes, I realize the innuendo in that)

Yoda looks like a little bad ass on the front of his figure.

    Question though:
Is the pic on front of the figure a still from the movie?

It definately appears to be so, CMR. Last time I checked, Hasbro does't put fan art or concept art on the front of their packages for actual film figures.

Yeah, Mas, but it wasn't fan art or concept art, was it? I mean, if that is actually Yoda's lightsaber (ignoring the blade color), then that is actually his lightsaber. Correct?

Yoda and the Force - report from JediNet (with help from Sith Interceptor).

It looks like his saber still comes from his cane.

That spy report does seem a bit dated though. No mention of Yoda's Force Lightning trick, which, considering one of the Soundtrack Covers, has to be in the movie.

Yoda looks awesome with a lightsaber. Looks like ILM pulled it off. I love Yoda even more now.

    He looks so real!

I'm pretty sure that parts of the spy report came from the junior novelizations that have been found. Chances are, those books wouldn't go in depth enough to mention the Force-lightning (especially if it wasn't part of the original story).

This post got very long before I found it so I only browsed over it so if I repeat something forgive me. It does seem the common idea is that Yoda is gonna get physical. Honestly 'lil Yoda flipping around like a midget circus clown will look kinda funny. Maybe in Yoda's younger days he was of a more physical mind but I think Yoda will probably be doing something along the lines of the Emperor, a wave of the hands or a gesture with his face and people and objects go flying everywhere.
