*The second the hatch was opened, D'nari raced onto the flight deck. She looked around and spotted Jefferies, still standing by - waiting for her.*

"The Lt. took Captain McCallister up to MedBay. They're waiting for you there."

Thanks, Jefferies, I'm going there now.

*She ran towards the nearest turbolift and requested to be taken where the MedBay was. She rushed in and saw Dinn with Captain McCallister. The wounded man she sent up before everything went haywire was gone.*

Mickey! Where is the man I sent up earlier?

"Ummm...that guy Palso came up and got him."

He WHAT? AND YOU LET HIM GO? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? WE DON"T KNOW WHO HE IS OR IF HE'S A THREAT TO THIS SHIP! WHERE ARE THE GUARDS?????

    "Ummm...I dissmissed them?"

Consider yourself on report Mickey. You'll be scrubbing bedpans for the next lunar cycle.

    *She commed security.*

Sir, we have an unknown on board. I have reason to believe he is currently with Palso - probably in his billet. Please take him into custody and bring him to the MedBay. If Palso objects, he can take it up with me.

*She turned to the two Preventers, who were waiting patiently.*

OK, McCallister, what have you done to yourself this time? I know you're blind - how did it happen?

Lance chuckled and tapped his comm. "Security to MedBay.... Your message has been transferred to the Brig for processing." Finished with being a sarcastic ***hole and getting a laugh or two out of it, he winked, as best as a blind man could do. "Don't worry. They'll get him. As for what I did to myself... Obvious, no? My sight is limited to the spiritual spectrum, and my eyes are hurting like crazy. No, I do not know how to undo the cluster-**** of a problem."

Hrmmm... Well I can tell you that whatever you did made all the untrained Force-users go nuts. That leads me to believe that we can heal this using the Force - I just don't know how... Meanwhile, you are relieved of duty until further notice. I will inform General Lightrider of this. Let's run some scans and see if we can find out how to fix this. Dinn, you can stay if you wish - who knows? You may help provide an answer...

Lance nearly flew off the seat, so quick did he stand. "First of all, nothing I did caused everyone to go nuts. The thing that has a lot of people in a nutty is the death of the chancellor, not some random Sith spell that burns a person's soul while they're still alive! Secondly, I can see through the Force, which makes it pointless to take me off the active combat list!"

At this point, the captain was aware that he was being more than just an ***-hole. He was being a ******-******* ***-hole, the kind of person who usually gets slapped by anybody of the female persuasion who had an ounce of self-dignity. He knew the two nearest him enough to know that he would soon have to start expecting a world of hurt to be aimed at him.

Dinn watched the conversation with one eybrow raised in disbelief. The nagging feeling that something or someone was watching her itched her skin, but as Lance had said he could see them, she didn't worry so much. She focussed on the fact that in any other circumstance, like a bar or a public place, she would have slapped Lance and told him to grow up at least ten minutes ago.

The cold, angry feeling she'd been harbouring since leaving the Revenger of Tattooine in tatters rose up again and gave her voice a hard edge usually associated with the exSith, not her.

"Captain, in all due respect, stop being a jerk and listen to what the Cheif Medical Officer says. She doesn't need you to tell her how to do her job."

Dinn took a deep breath and shook her head slightly, like she was clearing away cobwebs.

"I'm going to go report back to Lightrider, and see if I can be any help there, because I'm not going to be much help here." She stood and looked up at D'Nari. "Good luck."

And with that, she stalked out of the medcentre and back towards the hangar.

Dinn kept walking, her boots hitting the corridor floor like they were punching gravity in the face. She wanted to calm down, but the way to do it jumped out of her grasp. She was still cutting herself form all force contact, so instead on instinctively finding her friends in the crowd, she walked through like the place was full of strangers.

She caught up with Tanson as she got closer to the hangar. After a few polite but short pleasantries, she found out that Lightrider had taken the body to the morgue. She had no wish to go anywhere near there, so said goodbye to Tanson and kept going.

As she entered the hanger, she looked around for something to do, but with both shifts of the crew on duty, there was nothing. So Dinn marched over to her Defender, one of the last surviving, and climbed up into the hatch to find her tool belt.

"Looks like I'll be taking it all out on you old girl." she growled at her ship. Dinn looked around and made sure no one was looking in her direction before changing out of her combat suit and into her spare casual clothes.

A few moments later, she was dismantling her navicomp.
"If I can't fix anything else, at least I can get you pointing in the right direction..." she muttered, angrily banging away.

The single thought running through Lance's mind was so vulgar in the self-depracation it contained that he kept it personal, simply out of common decency. Then, there was the feeling that he was in for more of the same. The darkness lashed out at him, mocking and scorning him. Finally, there was more of the damned rhyme.

I can see what you see not. Vision milky, then eyes rot. When you turn, they will be gone, whispering their hidden song. Then you see what cannot be. Shadows move where light should be. Out of sight, out of mind, cast down into the halls of the blind.

I can feel what you feel not; your inner self begins to rot. You find salvation, all too late, and soon you're doomed to a Hellish fate. Then you cry out, seeking aid, help which God Himself forbade. Your soul is consumed in mortal pain, and redemption proven all in vain.

Tears began to well up in the captain's blind eyes... Not at what he was now hearing, disturbing as it was, but at how much of a blind fool he had been just recently, what with his foul behavior. "Leave me alone," he managed to whisper through his tears, his voice choked with sadness. Slowly, he turned for the door and headed out, walking in the direction of his quarters.

*D'nari watched McCallister storm off in a state of shock. She recovered quickly and commed a message to General Lightrider.*

General, I have just made a preliminary exam of Captain McCallister. While I have not yet discovered a means to heal his blindness, I theorize the cause to be the Sith spell he used while on mission. While he can see using the Force, I have grounded him indefinately, as Force ability is not always a reliable source. He took my order...badly, to say the least. I also believe the spell he used was a contributing factor for the blind rage that some of the Force-Sensitive, yet untrained, Outcasts had as a result of the Chancellor's death. McCallister, of course, denies this, but it would explain why normally cool-headed warriors reacted the way they did. I will momentarilly be in the morgue to explain further. D'nari out.

*She wasn't sure what had caused such a total rage, but she had a theory, and further examination of the affected personnel would reveal wether she had to apologize to the Captain, or dress him down for his lack of control over his Dark tendancies. Right now, considering the way he had reacted to her gentle suggestion, things were not looking good for him. She made her way to the morgue - not looking forward to what she had to do.*

ooc: Angry angsty Dinn post :p The poor ship!

IC: Beneath the exposed innards of the SharpHorizon

Dinn pulled her crushed finger out from beneath a pile of 'modified' couplings. The curse words coming from her mouth made a couple of nearby technicians look around in amusement. Through gritted teeth, Dinn cursed the ship, the manufacturers, the Imperial who designed her, the people who had helped rebuild her last time and every single tool Dinn had near her. She picked up a hydrospanner and held it back threateningly.
"Damn you, you steaming pile of Tauntaun flesh!" she bit out. Almost instantly, the ship seemed to shudder. A smell, like rotting flesh, wafted out from underneath and a small spark later, the hyperdrive fell apart, fluid leaking from it like a wound. Dinn took a step back and looked at the ship askance.
A thought came to her and she dropped the hydrospanner and closed her eyes. Clenching her hands into fists, she reached out with the Force and began squeezing the hyperdrive. All the anger from watching the Chancellor die, from losing her control, from killing those soldiers, from Jim turning his back on her, from Lance losing his sight...it all came crushing down on the useless hyperdrive, breaking it down into sharp little pieces and then finally a pile of twisted metal.

An equally twisted but satisfied grin firmly plastered on her grease smeared face, Dinn crawled back under the ship and continued to work...

    Stryke

Anger. Darkness. They were comfortable emotions, compared to what he was feeling recently. However, that comfort was lost when he realized who was feeling the emotions. Dinn...

Before he could make it to his room, he turned around, bursting down at full force. The elevator door didn't budge, and he was going to crash...

...Before a surge of Force use hurled it open. Quickly, he ducked in, grabbing hold of and sliding down the service ladder just as the car started to close in on him.

The hangar floor was in sight, and the captain literally leapt from the ladder to the doorway, psychokinetally ripping it open to provide his escape. The Force was his sight, and through it, he could notice the road to safety. Would he see the road to repentance? To mercy? To salvation?

The car stopped as he made his way down the hall. Not stopping, he burst into the main hangar, searching out a woman who was ticked off and working on a TIE Defender. His 'sight' found her instantly, and the repentant man made his way over, saying nothing.

[Skye's PDA beeped and he fished it out, reading the message from the CMO]

Lance is grounded... great, I know he isn't happy with that decision. Computer, locate McCallister.

Captain McCallister is on the Hangar Deck

Right. Bridge, this is Lightrider, is everyone back on board the Stryke? Also, do you know where Commander Lightrider is?

[the Ensign responded] Uh... no sir, not everyone. Some of the Jedi pilots grew sluggish after the SD detonated. As for Lightrider, she's supposed to be coming to you

Fine Ensign, just get them all back home as soon as possible. Make sure the NR go to their cruiser, we got enough problems here.

Yes sir. The Chancellor is feeling distressed as well.

Just do what I told you. Lightrider out.

[Skye turned towards the Hangar, flipping his comm to a personal channel]

Earwen... Are the twins slowing you? Anyway, if you are tracking where I am, I'm going to the hangar. Please get there soon, I need to talk to you.

[Skye boarded a waiting turbolift to suddenly hear it's out of order due to damage to the tube. Growling, the man opened up the mantenance tube and began climbing down the ladder to the hangar bay]

Jim Palso stopped laughing when he heard the buzzer ring on his door. "S***," Palso said, adding, "Looks like your going back to med bay."

"S***." Afro Man added in kind.

"Tell me about it." Palso said. Making his way to the door, Palso opened it and found four secuirty guards waiting outside. "Yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah." Palso said for the Officer In Charge of the secuirty detail as he opened his mouth. "Afro Man, your going back to jail."

"Do I get to collect at Go befre I leave?" Afro Man asked as he walked passed Palso and into the awaiting escort formation of the four guards.

    Palso smiled. "Nope. Not today."

"You suck." Afro Man said to Palso.

"I know. Thank you." Palso said, smiling as Afro Man was escorted away.

Palso knew Afro Man wouldn't say a thing. And anyways, Palso was just catching up with a good friend.

With that, Palso locked his door and started to walk around the halls. He wanted to feel happy, and was, but the thoughts of what some of the Force users were capable of, followed him around. He had a good guess that Dinn was in the hanger bay and made note to stay away from Dinn as much as he could.

And Laine...Palso wanted to stay away from everyone right now. He wanted to be alone. With that, he headed for one of the viewing domes.

*When D'nari reached the morgue, Lightrider was gone. She stood at the entrance, looking at the body of the Chancellor - he looked so peaceful lying there...

She strode over to the body and commenced her examination.

After coming out of trance, she retrieved a death certificate filled it out and signed it. There was nothing else she could do except prepare the body for cremation, and that would wait until tomorrow. She placed the body in deep freeze and went back to the MedBay just as the guards were bringing in the man that she had sent up earlier.*

Sit down, sir. I will not hurt you, but you are to remain in this room until such time as you are deemed not a threat. I am D'nari and I am the CMO here. Anything you might need you must request of me until you are given leave by whomever's in charge of this organization. That is all.

    *She turned to the guards.*

He is not to leave this room. Understood?

    "Yes ma'am."

Mickey! When you're done with that bedpan, I want a full report on this individual.

    "Yes, ma'am."

Dinn lay on her back, just staring at the couplings. She tilted her head slightly and saw a pair of very familiar boots headed her way. A brief crack in her Force-silence told her it was Lance, and he wasn't in the best of moods. She felt a bit sorry for how she'd spoken to him in the medbay - they were all feeling the grief - but she couldn't control herself right now, and she feared what would happen, both during and after, any conversation she had with Lance. Or anyone.

The boots stopped close to her head.

"I'm a bit busy right now, Captain." she growled as she reached for her welding goggles. She was about to tell him to get lost, when another presence entered her field of notice. Skye...on his way here probably...

Out of pure stubborness, Dinn stayed under her craft, and would probably only surface when ordered to by one of the men.

"Mickey is your name," Tim "Afro Man" Stevens said, then lowering his voice to where only Mickey could hear, Tim asked, "So, what itch has her the wrong way today?"

"Uh...I better not answer that," Mickey said, then went with his examation. After asking a bunch of standard questions and running a few more tests, with Afro Man's normal reply with a "yes" or "no" answer, he took his findings to D'nari.

Upon entering her office, he gave her his report. It was interesting to say the least.

Lance frowned. He didn't like the vibes he was getting from Dinn at all. Slowly, he knelt down, the blindness seeming to be non-existent to him for the moment, as he was technically alone with his beloved, even near a sea of people. "Don't I still owe you a favor regarding this thing?" he asked calmly?

Dinn stopped what she was doing for a moment and let out a sigh. She wriggled a bit to the left so that she could look up at Lance...but her eyes only met the blank greyness of his. She shuddered slightly, not from disgust, but from the feeling that someone somehwere was walking over her grave. She moved back to her work, grabbing a welding tool on her way.

"Thanks, I do remember." she said quietly. The feeling washed over her again, so she pulled her goggles back on. "But I don't know what you can do to help. I've always done repairs on my own. I can manage."

The way her voice came out, cold and calm like water, it was as if she was talking about herself instead of the ship.

    Dinn snorted.

"What? There's only room for one Darksider in this relationship then?" she joked, although regretting it as soon as it left her mouth. Ah shavit. Sorry, I didn't mean to be cruel. I'm just twitchy. she added silently, as if actual words of apology were too hard to say.

The SharpHorizon gave a groan. In retaliation, Dinn gave the motivator a shove with the Force and nearly pushed it into the engines. The resounding screech of metal against metal nearly deafened her.

"This frelling ship is falling apart!" she yowled. "No matter what I fix something else breaks!" Sparks snapped around her, another result of her anger. The voices surged back into hearing again, but Dinn just growled and pushed them away.

"Hand me that hydrospanner." she grunted at Lance.

Jim Palso had made it to the viewing dome, Bugger and Walking Library behind him. Alfred, who had since been intergrated into the ship's systems by Bugger so he could move around freely, fuzzled imto view. Palso, the two droids, and Alfered just stared off into space at the stars in the darkened viewing dome.

That was when peace finally came to him for the first time all day and he could relax.

As she took the hydrospanner, Dinn felt the normal part of her, the nice part of her, yelling at her to apologise. But the overriding sense of nastiness that seemed to crackle through her like an ion pulse forced her to keep silent. Instead, she merely put down her tools and began working with her hands instead.
The ring Lance had given her rubbed inside her glove, making her even more aware of how much she was hurting him by being so angry.

...just because you hurt him, doesn't mean its the wrong thing to do... the voices said in rational tones in her ear. ...maybe what D'Nari said was true...he caused you to kill those people...

"I killed them on my own." she blurted out angrily, thumping the engine. She lifted her hands away and saw the dints they'd left.

"Sure thing, Captain." Dinn snapped back, pulling out one bunch of wires and beginning to pull them apart like she was stripping wings off tiny enemies. "Before we do that, you want to tell the nice person whispering in my ear to shut up?" she added, her voice full of sarcasm. "They're distracting me."
