Obi-Wan has taught you well, but you are not a Jedi yet. ;)

I'm sure when you come to the meeting, someone will choose you. But I'll say something to dan then and see what he says. ^_^

I'm kinda in the process of getting a padawan. I wanted to make sure we were compatable before we made a commitment to each other. After all, Anakin and Obi-Wan are a perfect example of what happens when a Master and Padawan are not well matched. :D

Hows about a Master/Padawan bowling outing? It would have to be after Aug 4, but I think it would be fun. What do you think, Masters vs. Padawans or M/P teams vs. M/P teams?

Who all do we have as M/P anyway?

    There's Stina and I, BDP and Saberpilot, Jeid1966 and Corran . . .

Rox, is Nick your Padawan 'officially?'

Sal & Metallijedi, did you two ever take Padawans????

Which under 18s are still looking for Masters? Isn't KarateYoda looking for one?

    Answers? Anyone? A thought?

Yep, josh (MetalliJedi) is my master. Iits almost like BDP and SaberPilot, but reverse. SaberPilot is all good and sweet, but BDP is all evil and sith like [face_devil] . MetalliJedi is all good and kind (though he has his times ;) ) , and im all evil and sith like.....hehe. Thats just totally wierd.....but wierd = very cool ;)

Well, I'm just glad that everyone found a master that fit him/her. It's good to have personalities that match (even if sides of the force differ. ~_^)

OK, as far as the whole master/padawan thing goes, I'm 18, so where does that leave me? Technically I'm an adult, so would that make me a knight? Or am I still too young to be a knight? And if so, am I too old to be a padawan? I'm like in jedi limbo or something here! I dunno, I'd be happy either way, but the whole situation kinda confuses me.

Chris-Stacina, you are a legal adult but you are still in high school, and you can't drive. I think you could go either way, if you had a master you'd be a padawan but if not you are a knight...that is my opinion.

JM Sal still doesn't have a padawan

Chris-Stacina_Rajinn, you can be either if you wish.

Here's my idea for the whole Padawan/Knight/Master thing

You are a padawan til 18. Once passing the trials you become a Knight. After that it is a matter of devotion to this group and SW in general that will get you to Master. Prove yourself to the group as a whole (Not just the council) by helping, organizing events, take on a padawan yourself, be knowledgable in all things SW (don't neccessarily have to be an expert in everything) among other things as yet not decided. In this sense, so people could be elevated to master faster depending on their own personal contribution to the group. If your just a boarder/poster it will take much longer than if you come to the meetings, set up activities and so on.

Why don't you try out being a padawan for say 6 months and we'll all take it from there?
Upon which time you can take the trials and become a Knight.

As to the time it takes to become a Master I think the minimum should be until the person is 21. Again just an opinion. This gives plenty of opportunity to grow socially and maturity.

Of course under VERY special conditions a person may be elevated to master sooner, but only upon approval of the Council.

    What do you all think?

Stacina-Rajinn,I think I may be able to help.
You are 18 and this is the age at which a padawan would be or have gone thorough the trials,so my thought is that you are already of age that you are a Jedi Knight.BUT you may not take an apprentice yet.As a soon-to-be member of what will be our council,I will be glad to present this to the council for a decision.
Oh,BTW,you coming to the meeting?Hope so,can't wait to meet ya...

Hmm. I'll be facing the same dilemma in like 2 months. I hope my master teaches me quickly! ^_^
