So what has been established on the guards, the Inquisitor, and the Lothal temple?

The Inquisitor was a Yoda created illusion. It is also obvious that as a former Temple Guard/Jedi Knight, the Grand Inquisitor was completely ignorant of the existence of the Jedi temple on Lothal as was Vader.

What you think you're some kind of Jedi, waving your hand around like that? Mind tricks don't work on Mandalorians.

Given that we know the Grand Inquisitor was one of the Temple Guards we saw in the Clone Wars, I think it went a bit more like this:

The Grand Inquisitor was one of the Temple Guards that helped capture the traitor Barriss Offee. GI was later present when Barriss made her grand speech before the court. About six months later, Operation Knightfall occurs and GI realizes that the Chancellor was the Sith Lord all along. That the Jedi were fighting for the Dark Side and that the Republic was always corrupt. When the Clones fall on the Temple, Grand Inquisitor flees, trying to escape. Suited Darth Vader later hunts him down and brings him before the Emperor. Sidious does his usual seduction and Grand Inquisitor realizes where the true power lies and pledges to serve the Sith.

That being said, your theory is quite possible and could be true. We never saw the entirety of Operation Knightfall and we don't know everything that happened inside the Temple. So it is possible that a few Jedi betrayed their own and sided with the Sith.

Even more awesome if Sheev uses that to convince the Senate that the Jedi themselves killed the younglings.

Any news on the Inquisitors life as a Temple Guard? I still have mixed feelings on why the Jedi would even need them.

We might find out about him in the current Darth Vader comics. The second arc is supposed to cover the formation of the Inquisitorious.
