I was wondering what actually happens when training a Jedi. My knowledge of Star Wars is based on movies 1-6 only and I havent read any of the books or played any of the games or anything. How are Jedi trained? What is different in their training that makes them different from a Sith? I know that Sith use their emotions like anger with the force but what more than that?

The Jedi Path is a book that goes into depth on that details of Jedi training. Jedi vs Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force, is the book it got some of the information from- but has a lot more history and paragraphs written from the point of view of the characters.

    from the films:

    - be mindful: if you get a diploma in being mindful you get a masters degree

    - using your feelings, get an A* to get on the council

    - NEVER QUESTION THE CODE!!!! you'll be shunned and not be worthy of council status

    - Unlearn what you have learned- don't waste your time listening

    It varies with each Jedi.
