The following is part story, part thought experiment, and is deliberately intended to be thought provoking and somewhat controversial. You have been warned.

Title: Jedi vs. Zeison Sha - Debates
    Author: Mechalich
    Timeframe: Fate of the Jedi
Characters: Luke Skywalker, Quan Yi (OC), Sivi (OC), Jia Ji (OC), Diane Vell (OC)
    Genre: Drama
Summary: When the Zeison Sha intervene during Valin's escape from the senate, questions arise that threaten the foundation of the Jedi Order, and Luke must find answers.
Disclaimer: George Lucas owns Star Wars, the original characters are my own.
Author's Note: No real FotJ spoilers, this is set very early in Outcast. Some minor spoilers for my novel The People's Armor so anyone following that should probably finish it first.

    Chapter 1

    Senate Hangar, Coruscant
    Triple Zero
    Core Worlds
    42 ABY

?As you can see the Senate has its own private hangar facilities fully capable of handling-? Sivi listened to their tour guide, some lesser appointee of the Galactic Alliance senate, drone on. She wasn't paying much attention to what he actually said, it had little relevance. Her mind was instead tracing two divergent but mutually functional pathways. One, the reluctant politician, was looking at the architecture, styling, and other aesthetic and design aspects of this building for insight into how the movers and shakers of the government believed life should look. The second, the veteran sniper, was analyzing defensive and functional qualities, testing efficiency and gathering a considerable amount of data regarding the functional capabilities of the galactic alliance in this most symbolic of locales.

So far she was not impressed. I think I must hate the Core Worlds, the corrupt and poisonous seduction of wealth taints everything for parsecs within their touch, she considered.

Sivi's senses were always operating on a warning level, the kind of ability a person can only develop through years of staring for hours on end down a scope, just waiting for the right motion. She spotted a disturbance and snapped into rigid focus, reflexes kicking into high gear, right hand dropping to the pistol she wore.

As impressive as Sivi's experience was; the woman at her left was ten steps ahead.

?Vehicle hijacking,? It was a simple announcement, as if this were an everyday occurrence, and there was no outward indication of concern or action in the voice.

Of course, the woman who said it was already jumping over the safety railing, white hair flying behind her.

?Yi!? Sivi shouted, knowing even as she spoke it was pointless to attempt to forestall her companion. Instead she rushed to the railing, vision focusing down on what she observed, waving the guide up with her as she did so. ?Someone is stealing a shuttle-no wait,? she paused. ?Launching a shuttle blind and stealing another ship-a fighter,? It was hard to see details from almost fifty meters above the hangar floor, but Sivi could interpret the movements. ?Sound an alert.?

?What is your security operative doing?? the guide shrieked, watching as Quan Yi, Sivi's head of security, plummeted down through open space, a blur of white hair and clothes.

?Dealing with it,? Sivi said tersely, and realizing this man was not capable of reacting in a crisis took matters into her own hands. I probably can't accomplish anything, she thought. Her political reflexes, ever cynical, tacked on a rider to this deduction. But the attempt will probably look good. She tapped her ear, activating the advanced comlink resting in her earrings. ?The is Sivi of the Kalat Arm Trade Bureau Delegation. There is a hijacking incident in senate hangar,? Sivi glanced at the nearest signs. ?2-B. A shuttle and an X-wing are being used to exit the premises, recommend you open all-? Too late, she recognized, as the shuttle crashed through the sealed hangar portal, creating a hideous mess and sending debris in every direction. ?Exits. And alert int
