Eeeek! I love your sketch cards. I agree with Deb -- your Han one is perfect! And I love the look of the Gamorean! And Shaak Ti is wonderful.

 

Lovely colour work. The Gamorean Guard is my favourite, but all are very good.

your horse looks great, they can be quite difficult to draw at times, at least for me....i think it has something to do with the long face.

Young Master Obi Wan looks fantastic, jedipencil!! I especially love his expression: sort of stern, but with the barest hint of amusement--as though he's being confronted by someone who doesn't realize what's about to happen (...ie., the inevitable @$$-kicking!). The lightsaber is beautifully done--brava!! I love this one!

I have to tell you, I am blown away at the watercolors-It's one of my favorite mediums to use, but can be pretty frustrating and unforgiving...you watercolor like a pro! Fett's my favorite. I love the way you blend the colors--you'd make Alex Ross* jealous!!

--you said these were for a card set? what size paper do you work on? I assume they get shrunk down to card size eventually, just curious as to the size paper you work with.



*for those that might've never heard of alex ross, in my opinion, one of the greatest comic artists of all time, and he uses watercolors for his art! take a look at his site: www.alexrossart.com

 

Thanks everyone! fgdinterceptor, these are not for a set, but theoretically I will be working on at least one set. I don't know any details yet, but I will update on that when I do. As for the size, well what you see is what you get! These cards are 2 1/2 x 31/2 inches and they are hand painted, as my fading eyes will tell you! Two are up on Ebay now, and Boba Fett is going up next week. they are not expensive!

 

First off, I am massively jealous of your watercolouring skills.

Secondly, your artwork is beautiful. The first piece I looked at was that tremendously awesome Old Ben there. The likeness is so exact - definate jaw droppage happening when I saw him. I also loved the Gammorean - you captured that oaf-ish quality that I have always associated them having. Also quite partial to that Luke Skywalker rendering in which you have both the farmboy and Jedi knight together too. You say you'd like to branch out from the horse market? I say that the SWU universe would be blessed to have you onboard. (Heck anywhere, really.)


@ FGDinterceptor - Alex Ross certainly does make reading comics a far more enjoyable experience.

Wow--these are beautiful, jedipencil! The Master Obi Wan is my fave of these, I think, although Anakin-as-Good-Jedi is very, very close: just that face...Ewan MacGregor with that beard and that wavy hair (the "Jedi Mullet," as everyone likes to call it, lol! ) just leave me jelly-kneed! lol! Beautiful use of color in all of them--you are the absolute Master of Watercolors, I swear--they look so realistic, so perfectly blended... **sighs again** Just fantastic!
