Not all of us "hated" Conn or JW. I will admit to not knowing JW well enough to form an opinion of him, but I knew Conn VERY well (and I remember quite well giving you a hand when you needed it at C3, but only because you were a friend of Conn's) and I am just as mad and as upset about this as you are and I am also just as mad to see people saying things about her when they hardly knew her at all. Please don't assume that everyone posting in this thread is doing so to mock her.

 

Cutting back on the joints may improve your memory a lil bit.

 

to be fair i remember way more mundane jcc minutia than anybody rightly should. i remember the gatherer had a count dooku icon and yellow font on black background mod colors, i remember jjanda solo's green lightsaber icon... you name it. it's some kind of strange sickness.

I didn't know until this thread that Conn was disliked so much. I don't remember a ton about her, but she seemed really nice. On at least one or two occasions she defended me in threads where most everyone else was against me.

I don't think the body of the woman found in that article is Conn. It specified she was 25 and could not be identified. If so, then how would they know that she was American? If Josh told them, then he would have known her age, her name, and that she was pregnant.

DK, the article says that somebody confirmed that a man and women, Canadian and American, were taken. Then, in another paragraph, it says that "a woman" was found... it does not say that it was the woman who was abducted... just that she could not be identified.

 

Dude, I'm like this too. It's why I'm able to find old threads because I remember a lot of stuff about them.

I have a pretty good long term memory, but I especially have a good memory for really stupid and trivial things like posts on a Star Wars message board or Simpsons quotes.

That was my point. I was trying to calm people's fears that it was Cait.

It's still tragic, whoever the woman is.

 

Conn is one of those folks who people tended to like or not like. Her and I had a lot of shared interests (mostly video games) and so we would often talk and play each other online in those same games. She was quite a bit younger than I when we first met so I have always thought of her in a younger sister type of way more than anything which really makes this most recent turn of events rather painful for me.

 

I remember her post in Dani's interview thread...

Anyway.... as I said earlier, I am in no way glad that anything happened to her. I also said that it is kind of awkward when something terrible happens to somebody you don't really care for. So, I guess this is my way of dealing with the discomfort of that. I don't think she was/is a terrible person... just that my relationship with her was complicated... sort of.

 

I remember spamming the holy hell out of an offshoot message board that her and that creationist nincompoop GenOochy started with some fellow Fecal Force folks. Good times.

This is still an unfortunate situation though.
