JCC JediWarrior And Connemara Missing In Afghanistan (Update: What a ****show.)

This is really upsetting. I knew Connemara pretty well though we haven't really been in contact for ages. We met up for drinks in 2006ish when I was traveling on her side of the coast. Last I talked to her she was in Costa Rica.

I hope this turns out ok...

Knowing the two as well as I did, I'd honestly say that Conn was so much in love with JW that had he asked, she would have done anything for him. And knowing JW like I did, I sincerely doubt that he was there on missionary work. More like journalism, and I would believe he converted. It's been so so long, so I don't remember his stance on religion, but I'd say the two choices, either dead or gone native, are probably the only two choices I would believe at this point.

That said, it has been years since I've seen either one, and Conn and I didn't end on the best of terms, I do hope it turns out ok. This entire thing has me all ****** up. Couldn't sleep last night :/

 

While we're floating crazy theories, let's say JW wanted to get back with the AQ people, including his ex-wife. But Conn wouldn't give him a divorce, being a devout catholic. He tricks her into thinking they're taking a "vacation" to Afghanistan and then kills her himself. Then he's off the grid and back in the radical AQ world.

Yeah, I don't think that really happened. But while we're floating plots for the eventual movie adaptation . . . it could be a Rashomon like thing, with several different possibilities playing out over the course of the film.

 

I hope they are well and I'm praying for them.

That said until I hear otherwise I'm going to assume their held hostage in a cave and are at the moment construing iron man suits to eventually escape in.

 

With a box of scraps, of course.

Well, if this thread has taught me anything it's this: we certainly weren't very fond of either of them, but don't wish them harm and since this scenario sounds weird enough then let's make a movie.

 

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but we should get a group of JCers together and form a rescue party. It'll kind of be like rescuing Princess Leia from the Death Star. Anyone know fluent Farsi? Anyone military or ex military or specialized in weapons, espionage, or other useful skills?

 

Not a lot of Farsi speakers in Afghanistan. I suggest Catonese.

 

I totally vote we send beezel, Arlon, JediOverlord and the hard-military Saxtonites in after them.

EDIT -- And JediWarrior was AT-60?

That makes no sense. JW was alright, but I couldnt ******* stand 60. The feeling was quite mutual, given that he claimed I was an imperialist of murderous descent.
Apparently he could never get over the fact that his great grandfather took in with the Nazis. He claimed that his ggf was "murdered" (his words...naturally unverified because neither of us could confirm or deny) by an American patrol.

 

What, so he can bog enemies down on points of order and statistics?

 

I can't remember but was it AT-60 who made an offer to buy theForce.net? If so, had they let him buy it, would he be lost in Afghanistan today?
