FID, I gotta say, posting some old chat transcript is completely bizarre, as if trying to prove he’s some psycho who never loved her. These things change. People’s feelings about other people change. All. The. Time. I’m happy you shared a car ride with him, but pointing to old chats to claim you definitively knew someone, basically better than anybody else, when the bulk of your relation with each other was online is kinda wacky. Guess who almost certainly know him better than you: his family, real life friends (this is not you), probably some government officials, his captors, and Connemara. You have a very small and a very forced perspective on who this man Josh might be.

 

I think that its ignorant to say he's a saint or a sinner. He might still be scummy, or he might be a great guy. All we have to go on is what he's said to the press and what we extrapolate from this whole crazy ordeal.

My favourite was when you argued people make mistakes in their youth as a way of defending what a substance-less person you are, but then castigated someone for the same reason. It's not that I find you a hypocrite, it's just that I find you detestable as a person and consider your calling other people snakes to be actually amusing at this point.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid
