JCC JediWarrior And Connemara Missing In Afghanistan (Update: What a ****show.)

The scariest thing about this that even though we're just finding out about this, the story is from January, and that's when her baby is supposed to be due, according to the article. Crap.

Ok, so I interacted with Caity a lot. Always seemed very conservative. JW if memory serves correctly, was very right wing... Although the article says he is a human rights activist... And of course you can be a right wing anti Guantanamo person.

And can we talk about this without being shut down? One does not simply vacation in Afghanistan. Were they part of a religious mission? Is it THAT hard for an American and Canadian to marry? Wtf?

 

And is there a tie-in between their going to Afghanistan, of all places, and his first marriage.

 

I remember Connermera as conservative (and a member of Outer Rim Sieges) and JediWarrior as a troll with a lot of socks.

 

My thought here is that her pregnancy brought out someone's humanity and they are well.

 

I really don't know. All those aspects seem bizarre. And then he was married to the sister of an outspoken Guantanamo detainee... what? But yeah, I really don't mean to sound rude, but I genuinely don't understand how anyone of sound mind and normal intelligence would just walk through Afghanistan. It makes me really pity them, but it's also just mind-numbing. I can't fathom what on earth prompted them to do this.

 

When an Austrian was kidnapped in Yemen just before Christmas along with two Finnish citizens, I thought, "Jeesh, doesn't anyone check their state department/foreign ministry's warning lists?" But who the hell even needs to check one of those lists to know that travelling to Afghanistan is dangerous?

 

Who would have thought there would be an even MORE bizarre jccer story this week?

 

Think the Taliban would willing to swap the two of them for Julie?

I would agree with that. Having known him a little outside of this forum he was kind of a turd to everyone around him.
