    Very sad to report today that Mr. William Hootkins (Jek Porkins from ANH) died last night, October 23, 2005, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was another HUGE favorite with fans of Star Wars and to fellow Star Wars celebs. Bill had a voice that was seriously easy on the ears and he was as warm-hearted as anyone could be. He will be very sorely missed. Love and prayers to his family.

    Jek Porkins was one of those minor guys that everyone loves and remembers, even if he was only one the screen for a couple of times. Like JediScout said, remember is family in your thoughts and prayers.

    While I never met Hootkins I was lucky enough to see him in a Rebel Pilots panel at C2. Funny and gregarious guy. Forcespeed, Porkins.

    ps- Some of you may remember him as the slimy cop from 1989's BATMAN as well.
