    Also since is not explicit said in the movie, JJ opinions aren't decisive, is Rian Johnson who will have the final word on Who are Rey parents, why R2 woke up, is Snoke Plagueis etc...

    My kids wanted to watch the OT again before seeing TFA and I noted that R2 has access to the 'Entire Imperial Network' whilst he is waiting for Luke, Han and Chewie to rescue Leia. Who would have guessed that all those years ago GL would have had the foresight to slip in that comment so it would make JJ's job easier in the future? He also got Leia to call Obi-Wan 'Ben' as well.

    Wouldn't surprise me if R2 stole Imperial info while looking for Leia.

    That's what JJA said. That whilst on the DS Artoo had access to the Imperial Database and presumably this included all their info on Jedi/Sith sites of interest.
