for some reason the title has a nostalgic 80s feel to me. i can't quite put my finger on why .

Sure one does: by putting Kurtzman and Orzi in charge of the script. That's a recipe for utter disaster.

Actually, I finished watching all of Enterprise (including the awful season 3), mostly out of curiosity. Very hit-or-miss show. The good episodes were good, and the bad ones were painful. Rewatching the original series (albeit the CGI enhanced and cleaned up version), and have been enjoying that way more than I expected (mind you, almost 20 years since I last watched that show). Of all the next-gen shows, Voyager, the much hated, to me captured the original show's flavor best. (except for a ship full of explorers whining about wanting to go home, and over-use of the Bored--um, Borg).

Kutzman and Orzi, however, have destroyed everything they touched, from Jack of All Trades (Bruce Campbell vehicle), through Transformers, and on to Trek.

Sure I have. How else could I comment on it? Besides, my girl friend wanted to see it.

I don't know. You seem qualified to talk about Breaking Bad after 15 minutes and DW series 7 after seeing some promos.

Sure. I give any TV show 15 minutes to impress me. Breaking Bad and Lost both failed to do so.
And I haven't seen the DW 7 previews, just DW5 and 6. It is always possible that Moffat will turn around and surprise me with a massive improvement. It just seems unlikely.

What history? Name one project Kuztman and Orci worked on that was good.

JJATrek: All flash, no substance, falls apart the second you engage your brain and look at any aspect.
Transformers 1&2: instead of giant robots fighting each other, we got potty humor and pathetic attempts to make American Pie:The SciFi flick. Pretty much defecated on the established characters and fan base, and then expected us to lap it up and say it was tasty.
Jack of All Trades: took a mildly amusing Bruce Campbell vehicle and ruined it with low-end gags.

Considering that this is a thread for the second JJATrek film, I'm willing to bet a fair number of people think the first one counts as something that was really good...

I would say that is the studio milking money from a franchise that is being pounded by a necrophiliac. Star Trek is one of the accepted and most well known brand names in Science Fiction, and they know that even a bad movie will make money. And besides, the kids who don't know any better will love it.

Yeah, Stark Trek is such a big, popular name in cinema that all the Star Trek movies have done such good business!

Seriously, could you please start a thread for something you actually like instead of going into literally every other thread about a show/book/movie and talking about how much you hate them?
