I only clicked on the source spoiler tag. Once I did, ignored the rest of it.

 

That's what I was thinking. It all sounds just generic enough to be true.

 

I"m already irritated with this woman (Carol Marcus?) from the first trailer with the ridiculous scream

 

The only Trek I've seen was the new movie

 

You are missing out. Pick up TNG on bluray, and hang in until season 3. It's a treat.

 

The Blu-rays are ****ing expensive. I wouldn't recommend buying the first two seasons (with probably not even 10 "good" episodes) at those prices to a fan, let alone someone trying to get into the series. Netflix is by far the better option.

EDIT: Plus, it would be wise to skip most season 1 and 2 episodes anyway.

I'm just not into Trek that much.. So I guess I'm in the camp who likes this as an action movie and won't be bothered if most of it isn't in space.

 

Hulu is showing every episode of Trek, all the series, until the end of the month!

And the Ender books aren't even that spectacular.

 

Ender's Game itself is pretty spectacular. I never got much beyond that...

 

I liked Ender's Game, Shadow, and Speaker for the Dead when I read them at 15. Not sure how I'd like them now.

 

The series gets progressively worse the more pages are added to it, including when OSC realizes this and tries to desperately rehash the early stories by merely switching the viewpoint character (read:switching the pronoun used in sentences).

 

The series as a whole is a disaster.
