    This new thread is strictly for the discussion of the character. A previous version of this thread had to be locked because of excessive ugly and racist comments about either the actor or the character, despite numerous warnings by the mods.

    Let us be clear, our forbearance is now at an end. Any discussions about ethnicity/skin tone must stay within the bounds of civility, as decided by the Mods. Given the sheer breadth, span, and numbers of warnings given, we will now assume that any such posts are in defiance of this missive. Therefore, any such posts (and any such posters) will be wiped from the face of the boards with the fury of the mods own thunder.

    We'd rather not have to communicate in such stark terms, but past behavior has given us little recourse.

    MODERATOR NOTE: This post has been edited to lift the original moratorium on discussing skin tone and ethnicity. Again, such discussions must stay within the bounds of civility, as decided by the Mods. Racism will absolutely not be tolerated.

    Of all the new characters, I'm looking forward to Finn the most. His arc looks to be unique and Boyega has that certain something.

    I say the first discussion be about whether or not Finn is a human cupcake or a human kitten. He has the sweetness and yummybility of a cupcake, yet the adorableness of a kitten. Hmm

    Also, Darth Claire, I really hope the new controversy in this thread becomes whether Boyega is the human equivalent of a cupcake or a kitten.

    I am thinking he is more like the human equivalent of a big dumb fluffy golden retriever, personally =P

    I really hope Finn is force sensitive, am looking forward too seeing John in action and am glad he's got his hair short again, it makes him so much more handsome <3

    Agree 100%

    Seeing how he was a part of the First Order, the potential of a redemption story of sorts is intriguing. In the MNF trailer he states he was raised to do one thing. So I'm assuming he's been stormtroopin' for a while now, and wondering how many "evil" or "dark" things he has witnessed or even done. The redeemed hero with a chip on his shoulder, I love it.

    Fresh thread! Yaye!
    I'll start with this. The more I see and hear of John B, the more I like the guy. He has a great genuine enthusiasm to him, and good sense of humor. I'd just like to hang out with him. And, by extension, the more I like John the more excited I am about Finn. I think he will have a unique and interesting character arc, and that John will help us feel every step of his journey.

    As far as whether he's a cupcake or a kitten, how about a puppy?

    Yeah, no matter what the screenwriters have in store for his future he is certainly the new character starting with the most interesting origin.

    Kitty or cupcake only! I have even selected a breed of cat! The bombay. They are good looking, very chatty and loyal, and wonderfully social. Also they are nice cuddlers cause I think he would probably be one.
    Before you ask, yes I am a crazy cat lady. I have two.
