I like that finn is the reality anchor. That should be cool.

 

So, you want to lose all of the facts and base your negativity on your unfounded interpretation of a few scant rumors? Yeah, you DO want to be all doom and gloom.

 

Well i could take the position of lets wait for all the facts but then nothing for me talk about if I just say wait and see.

 

What you are doing is tossing aside facts that indicate that he is an important character and trading them for your non-factual doom and gloom interpretation of rumors. You are literally trying your hardest to spin it into the negative. At this point I would have to say that you are only trying to troll us because you could not possibly be sincere.

That same guys arguably served little purpose after a mishap with carbonite.

It wasn't the storyline that made Han cool. It was Harrison Ford who did.

And he could shoot a blaster and fly a ship and got all the good lines.

 

Finn is the character I most look forward to. I can't wait to see what his character brings to the story.

What route his character will take as he has been compare to Luke in ANH?

Is he connected with anybody else in the SW universe, seeing as how they haven't revealed his last name? (Calrissian, Leonis, etc...)

As far as the rumors go, I don't understand why some people are taking them so seriously, as if they've been confirmed by J.J. Abrams himself.

And even if some of the rumors turn out to be true, at least that leaves room for character growth, which is always a good thing IMO.

I'm looking forward to finding out about all of the characters - including the guy who won the competition.

As to the rumours, I honestly don't why they are been taken so seriously - it is supposed to be a bit of fun to tide us over until the movie - or why people are going to the effort of spreading, creating, etc. them.

Some people have seemed to seriously write him off as the bumbling fool who can't get right. Then again, maybe I have fallen prey to the trolls....LOL

 

I don't know the specifics of that rumour - whether somebody posted it that way or if it was just interpreted that way - but it has caused a bi of a whoopty-do.

It will die off with the next batch of nonsense that arrives.

He has a point. No one is stopping anyone from starting other topics and conversations in this thread. More than one can go on at a time. You know? Like in the Daisy Ridley/Rey thread.

I agree that he needs to grow, but my concern is that the effort to ground the character will remove a big part of what's needed in romantic heroes. Potential. A heroic character needs to be better at one thing than anyone else. Piling all good qualities on one character (according to these rumors Rey) just ruins character balance.

In what respect though? What do you base that on? No doubt he has been trained to use a blaster to an acceptable level and we 'know' he picks up the lightsabre to fight Ren but beside that?

 

Rey is only flaw is she cant Fly , everything else is a positive. Finn seems to have all flaws, His positive he is good at coming up with Plans? Maybe.

 

So she got lucky with that loop the Falcon performed in the teaser trailer?

So pretty much Rey is the pinnacle of perfection and Finn is a flawed human. Hey....opposites attract so....yeah

Also we dont know who was flying the falcon, right? It could have been Edgar Allen Poe for all we know since he's the pilot

 

Yes, Skaddix isn't "controlling" the thread at all - other topics can be raised too - and whether you agree with him or not, he has the speak his mind.

I neither agree with him nor understand why he thinks what he does on the topic but the forum exists to for everyone to express their opinions and the like.

 

I appreciate that Hoggsquattle, glad u can put our differences aside and look at things fairly.

 

MSW says that Finn and Rey steal the Falcon from the desert planet Spaceport and fly up to the Giant Freighter. Poe has left in his X-Wing (which Rey salvaged and repaired) so that only leaves Rey and Finn. Rey would be flying whilst Finn's in the back learning how to tie shoelaces.
