That's a possibility that makes sense too... I remember hearing something about BB-8 having to sneak around and avoid being caught by an FO droid.

I love the idea of a revolt but idk if what happens afterwards really lines up with that (would he bring all the rebellious surviving stormtroopers with him to Crait? possibly).

Love the new Finn shots. It makes so much sense that waking up from his coma, Finn would ask about Rey, since his last waking memory is of Kylo smashing her against a tree.
I am ready for the Finn and Rey's reunion, preferably after each has had some very different life experiences. Rey with Luke, Snoke, possibly Kylo? and Finn on Canto Bight and after executing fighting Phasma on board Snoke's ship.

 

I think in the Finn/Phasma fight the best thing to do would be to show Finn to show him competently fighting on the defensive against her obvious greater skill/size advantage, and eventually when there is an opportunity to stop the fight, rather than be smart and leave the dying destroyer, Phasma attempts to take a cheap shot, and this is where Finn maims her, its a great way to show a much more level headed hero, stop a very ferocious threat in a creative, rather than overtly physical way.

Rian Johnson and Boyega have already told us as much. It was spoiled months ago that when Finn wakes up his thoughts are on getting away and perhaps tracking down Rey. So there should be no surprise he is focused on that when he awakes and is unaware of her fate. But they have also told us that Finn's journey from there is one in which his motivations are dictated by other things and other people. For Finn this movie is not about him finding Rey, but about him finding out who he is and what he stands for.

Ahhh. Then perhaps DJ's skills come in handy by hacking into the computer machinery causing robotic weapons to start attacking FO forces.

 

Question because I'm not sure, but does snoke know about the stromtrooper who escaped with a rebel, then found the girl ( who snoke thinks she is the awakening he felt ), then will he know he is the one who took a huge part destroying the star killer base?

Or does snoke ignore the very existence of Finn? Because Hux and Kylo never mentionned FN 2187 to snoke?

 

Unknown, but there's a good chance Hux is unaware of the part Finn played in the destruction of SKB and the rescue of Rey. Kylo, only knows he was there during Rey's rescue and I doubt he's going to admit that a Stormtropper gave him any amount of trouble in a lightsaber fight.

 

So have they revealed anything more about Finn or Rae Sloane?

I know it's unlikely but what if Finn is Rae Sloane's son?
She might have been the true leader of the Pre-TFA Imperial Remaint and the reason he was so important that Phasma covered up for him?

Is it possible Snoke usurped the throne and that revelation results in the uprising?

 

Don't be like that guy Harloff on Collider's Jedi Council. The characters and storylines developed FIRST in books, comics and animations are not likely to hold the key to major aspects and revelations of the films and the characters found within them. Finn will not be Sloan's son. She would probably be too old to be Finn's mother in the first place. She is introduced in the Rebels era (years before A New Hope) when she was in at least her early twenties I believe.

Gotta admit, with all the recent news, and especially the TV spot yesterday, I've been pretty excited for TLJ. I'm glad his character is both consistent with TFA, and growing in TLJ

So far most of my fears have been averted. My list of fears was this:
Finn wakes up and feels fine, immediately starts taking orders from the Resistance, forgets completely about Rey and his injury, goes on to be a loyal little soldier, the end.

But I'm actually glad that his injury will play a part in his growth, and how the first thing he thinks about when he wakes up is Rey. How his loss at Starkiller actually haunts him, and how he's not sure if he's ready to take a true side in the war against the FO. How his interaction with DJ and Rose might have a devil and angel vibe with it, and how he has to go back into the FO and confront his past head on.

Definitely a huge relief so far.

 

But what if Finn suffers a brain injury and can only say "Where is Rey?" for the whole film?

 

Only if he says it in a Christian Bale Batman voice.

 

"Where is Rey?"

"There is Rey!"

 

Then I will gladly vouch for John to win an Oscar (and no, not the pilot).

 

Why can't it be both?
