ST John Williams to Score the Sequel Trilogy

HYPE!

 

Two things I've learned from TFA:

1. JW flows with the trends of the times. I'm prepared for the score to be less of a main character in the film and more of a supporting character.
2. I'm going to reserve judgment on the score until I've had a had a chance to really listen to it and absorb it after the movie. I didn't care for the TFA score at first, but it grew on me over time.

Great, now I'm sad that "Kylo Gets The 'Light' Idea" won't be an actual track title for the score.

 

I wonder if this could be from the actual score? It’s different from all the other trailers, plus there’s that awkward cut.

 

wait... did JW do the EP 8 score???????? I thought I read back before TFA came out it would be JWs last go around (TFA would be).

I thought the same when i heard this. It's very possible. We got a promo with Jedi steps before TFA, and this little tidbit seems right up JWs alley. Strangely enough its edited in a way that makes it sound like the ewok theme?

I’ll be amazed if that is by Williams.

 

Is it too different from his style?

 

its cut up a lot either way, it's more likely an amalgamation than all JW.

 

I think it's just some Williams-esque synth job.

The soundtrack is available for pre-order on iTunes now, and shows 20 tracks. No titles or length as of yet.

I really hope we get some new digestive music for Canto-Bight.

 

I guess we're a week or so away from finding out the track names. As much fun as it is discussing the names here, I'm way too excited for this and want it to be a surprise, so I'm going to wait until I buy the CD.

I honestly hope that the tracklist doesn't leak at all until release day. The same goes for any samples or previews of the score.

 

Sorry, could not contain my hype. This is one of my most anticipated scores of the year.

 

Oh, I totally agree. The wait for it is nerve-racking.
