This will be a day long remembered.
It had to be this way, it's Star Wars!
OMG....what next are you going to tell me the original trilogy cast is returning!?!
Great that he's returning.
Hilarious that he answered this at a Star Trek press conference. Way to steal Star Trek's thunder JJ.
YES! YES! Break open the drinks!
Somebody give those men some medals
This is awesome news!! I can't imagine (and don't want to) watching a SW film without hearing a John Williams score. And I love that he confirmed it at the Star Trek press conference!
Yes, I agree! great news. Hope he can have an understudy just for the new Star Wars films. Just in case, you know, he's gettin old
This may be the greatest news right outside of them actually doing an Episode 7. It just feels right now. Next chips to fall.....bringing back the "Big 3." I'm assuming the primary reason that hasn't happened yet is so that JJ can push Star Trek out the door.
WE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!
*Raspberries at Captain Kirk*
I'm still waiting for Satan to slap me awake and tell me this was all a big joke and then dip my head into a pit of lava while laughing maniacally... such good news!
Hooray for bankable info. We are 100% guaranteed to get a Williams score... unless he dies and then these guarantees mean nothing. There are no actual spoilers until the work is complete. We aren't promised tomorrow. I don't even know what we're doing here. Time is so precious and so taken for granted. Tell your family that you love them. I love you guys. Hold me.
Btw i'm pretty sure George Lucas told John W about this early last year alredy and he is well underway with the score for epi VII. They are close friends outside the movie making.
So with that John most likely also know some of the plot and characters in it to set the mod and make character themes like he did with Luke Leia etc.
I'm happy to see they still plan on making this movie. I was beginning to wonder.
Unfortunately if you watch later into the video, he openly acknowledges not even Williams is certain, he's merely stating that Williams was there long before him and should rightfully return, but this is not a confirmation necessarily. I still hope it turns out to be true, but I do prefer to know the context in what he's saying, and it simply isn't a "done deal".
Anyhow, I really doubt Disney would let Abrams come in and say he wanted someone that was not Williams, if Williams was willing to return. This isn't his film, as much as it is theirs....
Looking forward to an official statement/reply from John Williams!
::waits for someone to post how this is somehow bad news::
Yeah, but this confirms that Abrams isn't thinking of going with someone else, not that I thought he would, but it's nice to hear it.
I never thought there was anyone else that he could possibly choose.
But that's like a first love, you never assume it'll happen again.
The difference here is that women are a dime a dozen (I love you honey!) and there's only one John Williams.
Speak for yourself, there is only one Mrs. Chiznuk! *Looks over shoulder to see if she is gone*
