ST John Williams scored TFA - incl. Soundtrack discussion

Oh he is soooo in! It's awesome to see that he wants to score another trilogy. Not just another movie! Helz. Freakin'. Yeaz! Cannot wait to hear the new epic battle themes, the new epic baddie themes, the subtle talking themes, hell, everything! I think I'll just pop in some SW music right now then in anticipation!

Long live John Willaims! Gotta say, he's a modern day Beethoven!

 

This is gotta be the biggest non-news news. It would be news if they were getting someone...say Danny Elfman...to do it.

It is as it should be.

 

Yeah, A BIG giant in your face to all those who think JW is "too old" to do another trilogy! Pffttt . . .

As I already said 80 is the new 60.

John Williams on scoring Episode VII

 

He talked about old themes i'm guessing Luke and Leia themes.Geat interview.Williams is trully great.Think he have started writing alredy.

Figured I put my favourite piece by Williams in, since I'm dancing on cloud 9 atm. I hope to hear something like this in the new movie.

 

I swear to God, the man looks as if he's only in his mid-sixties or early seventies at the most! I just hope he manages to make it through to score the entirety of the ST! Certainly looks to be in far better shape than my grandparents, who are both about his age!

 

Star Wars just isn't Star Wars without JW.

John Williams is the only thing these days that unites all SW fans! Looking forward to more new SW themes to go with the great themes from the first 6 movies.

 

There was a lot of speculation that Michael G was going to do it cause JJ was on board. It isn't Star Wars without John Williams:

John is actually working with the U.S. Marine Corps Band for the 215 Anniversary. The music sounds great too, check it out:

That music is close enough in it's DNA that it could be used for a generic scene in the new Star Wars movie.

Good news, everyone! Gotta love the fact that Williams is on board for the new trilogy; he'll definitely whip up some great new music.

 

I am very happy. But I would hope that while he is scoring these next films, Williams is mentoring a successor.

Chills. And I was even a little emotional listening to my favorite film composer talking about a new Star Wars, with classic Star Wars music playing underneath his interview.

 

Composing for film is a tough business because of the tight deadlines and having to orchestrate for a full orchestra in many cases and then record and mix. Film composers working on projects of this scale usually have a team of assistants and there are many composers out there who have "studied under John Williams" on their résumé.
